Tuesday: Liam's two best friends. Liam, being the trooper he is, still managed to keep watching the Wonder Pets while throwing up into the bowl. Then he slept for about 23 hours and woke up like nothing had happened.
Breakfast: Multigrain, Honey Nut and Fruity Cheerios, Quaker Harvest Crunch, Kashi 7 Whole Grain Honey Puffed and a generous handful of dried cranberries. And when I'm feeling very naughty I throw in a chopped up banana.
Wednesday: The last freakin wallpaper in my house. Was it common in the 70's to use Crazy Glue when putting wallpaper up? This shit could survive a tactical nuclear strike.
Thursday and Friday and possibly all of next week as well.
But don't worry, mom and baby are fine, they just need some hospital monitored relaxation to make sure the bun is well and truly cooked before it leaves the oven.
When you're feeling exceptionally mischievous do you throw in a chopped watermelon?
ReplyDeleteThere's a really hip breakfast fusion restaurant in L.A. called Bowl that serves mixed cereal like that.
ReplyDeleteBetter hurry up and paint over the crazy glue residue before mom and bun get home!
Sometimes just watching Wonder Pets makes me want to throw up. I just avert my eyes, though.
ReplyDeleteBlessings on the bun, my friend...yes, indeed, make sure all is well. Thinking good thoughts for you and SL and the lads.
When we pulled up the floor of my father-in-law's 70s era house I swore that he had used the same glue that they used to keep the tiles on the Space Shuttle.
ReplyDeleteSo Liam is not a morning person?
Hope all is well.
hope all goes well if they are in the hospital...my youngest does not want to go to kgarten at all...they asked him which teacher he wanted at orientation...none. yeah gonna be fun...
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear wife is doing well. Love the look of son in first picture.
ReplyDeleteYou've have quite the week. Vomit duty is by far my least favorite part of parenthood.
ReplyDeleteI hope SL is okay. She's not due for another month, though, right? Make sure the freezer is stocked with her favorite ice cream when she gets home. Ice cream is the best part of bed rest.
keep the bun in the oven til it has fully risen.....mine came out half baked and took forever to get it up to snuff.......but 23 years later not a bad lil cookie.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to SL. Tell her I said Hey. I really need to go find a kickass baby gift :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that little look has such huge power! My grandson looks like that every morning for pre-school and is a happy camper every afternoon. Fingers crossed for the best possible outcome for your wife and Baby Bun! You're really earning that Father's Day card this year.
ReplyDeleteI get that look from the Pixie on daycare mornings. I know she loves it, but damn, she gives me a look of death every time. "You're leaving me HERE?!?!?"
ReplyDeleteSending nice relaxing thoughts to SL and the Bun.
I liked Wonder Pets more than my daughter did, is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteI'm sending all the best to your wife and Baby Bun!
Oh my, that's some tasty looking cereal. (I could eat cereal for three meals a day, no problem.)
ReplyDeleteHope all is okay with SL and that she gets some good rest.
mornings are for divas...lol ;)
ReplyDeleteThinking relaxing thoughts for your wife and bun. What a way to wind up that oh-so-busy week!
ReplyDeleteOh and congratulations on besting the last of the wallpaper. We still have some in our old house that is from the 40's, or earlier. The plus side is that it starts coming down by itself. The minus is that the old horsehair plaster walls mean new wallpaper is way easier than smoothing and painting.
Looks like a wild and woolly week to me! Mine seem to have the throw-up-at-2am-run-wild-the-next-morning thing going lately. Last night was the Princess' turn, and of course she was much more dramatic, tears and everything!
ReplyDeleteHope the bun is doing well and SL can rest up! Wishing y'all the best!
Oh my cereal porn. A man who understands the extreme importance of cereal is a keeper. Lucky SL. And I hope the bun is OK and that she is getting all the rest she will undoubtedly need, what with soon to be 4 boys and all.
ReplyDeleteDay 1. The face says it all - mornings are for suckers.
ReplyDeleteDay 2. Oh, vomit bowls...ruining the chance of it ever becoming a popcorn bowl.
Day 3. YUM!
Day 4. We scraped 8 layers of wallpaper off when we moved in - and each layer kept getting worse. The dark gray with giant pink, yellow, and white flowers was the "winner"!
Day 5. Hospitals aren't the most fun, but glad to hear the bun is getting the time needed.
Have a great weekend!!!!!!!
thats all naughty does to you ?
ReplyDeletePoor Liam, poor Mama, poor Captain. I hope next week brings a little more peace. Glad Mom and Baby are fine... we'll keep a good thought for all...
ReplyDeleteYou removed the tactical defense wallpaper? Now what's going to protect you from terrorist attack which, according to the Republicans, could happen RIGHT FREAKING NOW!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, busy week of unhappiness in the mornings, unhappiness of wallpaper, unhappiness of puking and unhappiness in the hospital. Here's to hoping next week is more lively and exciting.
ReplyDeleteI love the morning face!! That's a treasured picture.
That bowl of cereal made me hungry. We used to do that in college. Now I can only mix when the LG is out of sight, otherwise I'd be mixing 9 boxes of cereal for him every freaking day.
ReplyDeleteAnd wallpaper? Is a punishment for something we did wrong in a past life.
Best wishes to SL and the littliest.
I hope everything is ok....with all of you!!!
ReplyDeleteI personally think that's how everybody should look in the morning. Those cheery types make me run and hide! All the best to mom, bun, and the rest of the family!
ReplyDeleteYou are having quite the week! Keeping fingers and toes crossed for the babe to stay put and stop freaking you out.
ReplyDeleteBleh, this week sounds like utter shite! D:
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for your wife, I hope she's doing better soon!
P.S.: Your Son is no Diva, he just isn't into getting up early!!! ;)
Well NOW how are you going to survive the tactical nuclear strike?
ReplyDeleteI mean...not that I ordered one or anything.
Hope SL is enjoying her "rest".
Don't forget to bring SL edible food while she's there.
ReplyDeleteHope mom & baby are doing well!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you all and sending good thoughts for SL and the bun.
ReplyDeleteDude that's my same look every morning as I head into work. I would give anything to go school.
ReplyDeleteThe fruity cheerio's look completely out of place in there. Like Paris Hilton at a birkenstock convention. Hospitals are no fun (I should know,I work in one). Hope SL and bun are out of there soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, Captain.
ReplyDeleteAnd your wife? She's no dummy. Looks perfectly quiet and peaceful in there....
Ellie
Uh, what the hell? Is SL ok? Now I'm worried. And who is making all of your delicious pastries for you with her laid up in bed?
ReplyDeleteQuite the week you had there. I'm pretty sure that cereal had some kind of butterfly effect and set off a chain reaction somewhere.
ReplyDeleteLuck to SL!
Poor everyone! I really, truly hope that the bun is safe and sound and that you all are holding up OK.
ReplyDeleteSo, not much happening then? :)
ReplyDeleteSo are the wonder pets "on their way to help the bun in the oven and save the day?"
ReplyDeleteThe might not be too big and not too small but they sure as hell are annoying.
I am serious!
Wow. That is one hecka bowl of cereal!
ReplyDeletePeace and hugs to Supreme Leader and Bun. :)
Mornings make me feel mutinous too. Especially if I have to be up early to go somewhere I don't like going. Grrr. I wish I had exciting cereal.
ReplyDeleteThat cereal looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteSending lots of positive thoughts to you, Supreme Leader, Liam and Bun.
Possibly the MOST random post EVER... but that's why I love you. Hope SL is doing well... give her a big hug from me. Tell the boys to behave or I'm going to drive up there and pinch them!
ReplyDeleteHaving recently been tethered to a hospital bed via many plastic tubes (one of which was an IV)for ten days, I have to send my best thoughts to Supreme Leader. And the bun. The look of dread on your son's face makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteAll my best to your wife and the bun.
ReplyDeletehehe. I love the Diva look. That boy has promise.
