  3. That could make for the beginning of a great movie trailer. Good luck making the scratch.

  8. That phobia has GOTTA include the sta-puff marshmallow man. Ever seen that guy?
    PS- Rooting for ya!

  9. Oh, well done, Captain. Very well done. And face it, dude. You are going to screw something up. We all do. They expect errors at the beginning. It took about a month before I got through a week without screwing something up. Part of the culture where I work is that you can never expect anyone to remember something they agreed to do without a few follow-up emails. The first teacher workshop I had to run, I learned that the hard way when the scheduled photographer ran into my boss five minutes before our photo shoot with no idea he was supposed to be there. So, of course, that was "my fault for not following up with a reminder."

Figure out the system, and then work it, baby. Oh yeah, build a support network. Very important.

  10. ok ok gotcha on that one....what is the fear of that lil cotton piece in the asprin bottle? Dear Hubby shakes at the thought of that one. OH and the fear of sharks is pretty common, right? Even if he is in the POOL! LOL So now we know that you can pass the marshmallows over to the lil guys and get on back to work. You will succeed there cause as the boys can testify....YOUR THE MAN!

  11. That is why I don't eat marshmallows.

I use the "I'm new here and have yet to figure out the system" method of new hire. And what Mary said.

  12. Bwahaha! Very nice. Belongs in a gallery, I'm sure. I'm mean, if "Earth, Wind, and Fire" can make it, so can this for sure. :o) Have a good day.

  13. For sure for sure for sure! Sheesh. I need to wake up, obviously for sure.

  14. Marshmallows can be scary. Like Jello.

    ReplyDelete
  15. LOL, clearly, you have too much time on your hands :-D

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ok... I won't say a word, but tell me... did you eat the marshmallows afterward? Because that's the best revenge on any fear. -J

  17. "I see, I see. Now, how does this make you FEEL?"

  18. I see your next blog: stop-action marshmallow interpretations of classic horror movies. Picture it -- Jack Nicholson marshmallow chasing Shelley Duvall marshmallow up the stairs in The Shining. Jamie Lee Curtis marshmallow screaming as Mike Myers marshmallow approaches in Halloween. Extreme close-ups of marshmallow faces in the dark as they listen for the Blair Marshmallow Witch.

I smell a worldwide viral sensation. You've just discovered your path to millions.

  19. You will do great at the new gig. I have never known a more qualified pole dancer than you.

  20. First grilled cheese, now marshmellows. If the new job doesn't pan out you can go into action food.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The red eyes...are extra scary!!!

Keep a zippo handy....just in case someone needs to get toasted!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I hope you took a stab at the big guy and roasted him over an open fire. That always makes me feel better.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Things must be bad if you're having to take it out on a poor marshmallow.

    ReplyDelete
  24. SO ... Jet Puffs or store brand generic?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd be more afraid of being skewered and slow roasted over the fire.

    Good luck man.

  26. That is the coolest creative art I have seen in a long time. I agree you have a gift that needs to be exploited. It's A Mad MaD Mad Marshmellow World!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Now I'm scared of marshmallows AND Sharpies! I'll never be able to work now! Aiiiigh!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think I can find a bamboo skewer and a flame and toast that guy to perfection then slap it between two graham crackers for you.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The learning curve is ok as along as it's not going over a cliff?
    Excellent presentation.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We play with marshmellows too....but only in fire instead!!!!!! Mwah ha ha ha ha

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh Captain, you'll be fine! I have faith in you!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow....are you going to work at a Disney villain factory? Your anxiety looks like something that might be a *wee* bit irrational otherwise.

    You'll do great!!!
    Good luck!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nice Sharpie work. I'm not a big fan of marshmallows. When I was a kid and we occasionally made s'mores I'd skip the whole marshmallow part and just eat the chocolate.

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOL Captain, love some of the comments here, almost as creative as your marshmallow monster!
I agree, however, that you'll be just fine in your new position.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lets hope you don't get ergophobia!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Get thee to a campfire...quickly!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have complete faith in you (which is easy for me to say since I'm now a SAHM, eating bon bons and reading US Weekly as her children set fire to the house). But seriously - I feel for you - but I think you'll be great. And if all else fails - you have a bright future as a pop culture food artist ahead of you. By the way - if you see a copy of Elle Decor in the supermarket check out line, look at page 208. Ralph Lauren has an original Star Wars Storm Trooper in his entry hall. Saw it and thought of you.

  38. That is...some dark marshmallow art there, big guy. You'll do fine.

    ReplyDelete
  39. That big marshmallow is one scary mother....

I can relate to being devoured by your fears.

    ReplyDelete
  40. That is outstanding! I love the things people come up with around this time of year for halloween. My favorite to date is the Jack-o-lanterns that people carve to look like they're throwing up, and on the stair blow is a pile of pumpkin guts.

By the way, I'm not sure if you do these, so I apologize in advance, but I tagged you in a "meme"... Check it out at the link below if you like, and feel free to ignore it!

    Hope all is well. :)

  41. I hope your new job is something creative, because that is SUPER funny.

    ReplyDelete
  42. wow, how interesting is Althaiophobia! i actually thought you made that up, because who in the world would have a fear of marshmellows. they are so yummy and friendly (well yours are pretty scary) but the ones in my pantry are divine! so, i googled it and sure enough, there are people out there who refuse to eat rocky road and have nightmares about s'mores. i say that ghostbusters is to blame for this absurd phobia!

    ReplyDelete
  43. You could probably sell that for a lot of money.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Absolutely brilliant! I feel like that every time I face the kids in the morning....

    Best of luck to you!

    ReplyDelete
  45. hehehehe those marshmallows rocked :D I know you'll be fine on the job...you're Captain Dumbass! You can do anything!

    ReplyDelete
  46. A marshmallow clown. Now that would make run screaming in the opposite direction. Captain Dumbass worried about a new job? Nah. Can't be.

Come on, sailor. I love you long time.
