Hey, happy belated Easter, here's a picture of my youngest son shooting cross country skiers. Wait. That might need some explanation.
Liam will be five in two weeks, so I figure the first Olympics he'll be able to compete in will be in 2022. With his head start he'll be sure gold by then. Unless they're serving caramel popcorn.
That may change things.

Indy would be right there with Liam. What is it with boys and guns?
ReplyDeleteIndy is a popcorn lover, but not caramel corn. I'm not sure he's my son.
Reminds me of the skeet surfing thing in the movie, "Top Secret" LOL
ReplyDeleteCaramel corn = kryptonite, to some folks.
ReplyDeleteKeep him focused, man!
A Man's gotta have his priorities.
ReplyDeletepass me that gun- Tightwad pissed me off again.
ReplyDeleteYour sons' version of the biathlon could make things much more interesting.
ReplyDeletecaramel popcorn definitely changes this...smiles. love the id pic!
ReplyDeleteWith your boys' dad being your boys' dad, I suspect he ran straight for the guns too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, what is it with boys and guns :-D
ReplyDeleteHoly bucket of cute! Makes me almost Okay with him shooting the cross country skiiers.
ReplyDeleteIs he available to eliminate out-of-state drivers for me?
ReplyDeleteIf he was truly competitive, he'd shoot all the other biathlon folks first, then steal their popcorn.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll get lucky and shooting skiers while munching on caramel popcorn will become an Olympic event.
ReplyDeleteLove the face on the ID badge!
ReplyDeleteWas the picture taken while it appeared someone else was going to eat said popcorn?
ReplyDeleteI love how he's hugging the popcorn for dear life. Did you just threaten to take it away from him?
ReplyDeleteI think you did and now you're going to have to tell him he's got to win the Olympics in 2022 to get more.
I must admit I support his love of the caramel corn -- also, everybody knows you need to hoard any caramel corn you may acquire.
ReplyDeleteI see no problem with that. He's right.
Best of luck in the olympics.
Jude got to shoot a bb gun at Cub Scouts Rocket Camp. The gun-toting Texan, hidden deep beneath my left-coast liberal exterior, got very excited. Unfortunately, he hit nothing. Maybe raising the kid in California was a mistake.
ReplyDeleteGotta love caramel corn!
ReplyDeleteHis ID pic looks like someone just announced that they ran out of caramel corn. Then the hug of relief when he gets his own bag. Love it!!!
ReplyDeletelove the popcorn pic, p[riceless.....
ReplyDeleteThat may be the best Olympian photo ever on record.
ReplyDeleteLove his ID badge!!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to think about how old I will be in 2022...
ReplyDeleteCaramel popcorn DOES change EVERYTHING... It's kind of like discovering Pee Wee Herman for the first time. The world will never be the same...
I hear ya. When my two sons were 9 & 10 my father, against my wishes, sent them each a Red Ryder BB gun. Yup, just like the one from "A Christmas STory". He believed every boy should learn to shoot. They learned to shoot all right. They shot through the windshield of our Ford F350, not once but twice. They shot through the window of their room. Luckily they never shot animals as they are kind hearted but they shot too close to our house & down towards our neighbor's house. aaaarrrgggh!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about shooting at the cross country skiiers. Maybe he'll be a cross country ski coach, and that's how he'll make them go faster. He's creative like that, right?
ReplyDeleteWhat, no popcorn-eating as an olympic sport? Forget it then.
ReplyDeleteWill look for him 2022. In the stands, eating the carmel corn that is.
ReplyDeleteThe last pic is awesome... C: "Noez! All mine! Precioussss... Popcorn!"
ReplyDeleteI love the expression on his face in that ID picture. Priceless!!
ReplyDeleteMy first driver's license photo resembled his ID picture.
ReplyDeleteCute kid and he is lovin' him some popcorn!
ReplyDeleteYour going to want to work on his form but other than that he's a winner.
ReplyDeleteLiam is adorable.
ReplyDeleteCaramel corn was my undoing too. But I still wouldn't trade it for a gold medal, nope.
ReplyDeleteYou are tagged on my blog.
ReplyDeleteBoys=guns.
ReplyDeleteAnd caramel corn is worth a helluva lot more than a stupid gold medal.
Mmmm caramel popcorn. I'd drop gold for that too.
ReplyDelete2 things I suck at - skiing and shooting things. Thank god for little girls.
ReplyDeleteYah...I'd do just about anything for good caramel corn, too! :) Cute.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he's got the heart rate of a hummingbird. Which he probably shoots with that thing. Somebody could get hurt!
ReplyDeleteEllie
I want some popcorn!!!! And if this goes through then the Firefox worked!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! It worked!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHa, that is too cute.
ReplyDeleteIs is KETTLE caramel popcorn? Because if it is....oh yeah...he's toast.
ReplyDeleteI love that photo ID of his! :-) I was thinking of the first olympics my boys could participate in (same -- 2018 or 22) but then I ran into the problem of what they would compete in. My oldest is pretty good at video games and my youngest is good at drawing. But, who knows, right! :-)
ReplyDeleteBoys and guns....James once made a gun out of bread crust.
ReplyDeleteScrew the gold. I'd go for the caramel corn every time.
ReplyDeleteYou guys should have gone to the Saskatchewan pavilion - you had the chance to have your picture taken in front of a faux wheat field.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there was a giant bar.
The end.
Aw, I love the popcorn picture! He's so cute!
ReplyDeletePopcorn changes everything. Great kids! I know it's fun at your house all the time!
ReplyDeleteahhh - guns & popcorn - fun times!
ReplyDeleteSaw this today & thought of you:
troopeggs
No one will notice a missing skier or two. ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah popcorn (or any loved junk food) can probably account for many athletes not getting to the Olympics haha. God how I miss popcorn and junkfood...try getting something like that here in Thailand...no chance :(
ReplyDeleteawww ... look at him hugging that bag of popcorn like his life is somewhere in there ... amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat could be better for an almost five year old boy then guns and caramel popcorn? Nothing. Nothing at all.
ReplyDeleteUnless you want to get really crazy and throw some Legos in there.
Almost 5?!?! I think time goes faster up there. And, that is going to be a HUGE party!
ReplyDeleteI'm slightly concerned...
ReplyDeleteI left you a present over on my blog!
Liam's face in that shot is pure comic gold.
