This is Boomer, a Landseer Newfoundland. He's bigger than your dog. And forget it, he's bigger than your cousin's brother's dentist's ex-wife's gardener's dog too. He's 180 pounds and seven feet from nose to tail.
And that's Monday.
Like my new header? My design team of Sister, In, and Law is awesome. And yes, we know there's an ugly gap at the top but we (she) can't get rid of the title so we (again, not me at all) had to change the font to white and make it as small as possible. And, if you were by on Saturday and noticed all the text on my page had disappeared that totally wasn't me at all.
You can watch the first five seasons of The Dick Van Dyke...

what, I am first? now that is weird!
ReplyDeleteDid boomer bury your other "us" son? You will have to answer to him one day why there is only one featured on the heading! but love the action photo!
Holy crumb, that's a big dog.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that is a big dog. I think you're tricking us, it is a tiny dog in a miniature kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThat's a terrier in a doll's house, smartass....
ReplyDeletebtw, what the hell is the name of this blog anyway???
Dammit that's right: Us & Them. But only "us" is in the header. Jeez, talk about self-centred....where's "them"? Or did the tiny dog eat 'em?
ReplyDeleteAn acquaintance of mine long ago had a Newfie...it made even the St. Bernard look a bit on the small side. Big freakin' dog!
ReplyDeleteIt scared me. A little.
Love the header. And that is one big a$$ dog. Is it yours?
ReplyDeleteI only just noticed the header is animated... Cool! I like. And that IS a massive dog. Saw it in the news the other day. Officially world's largest dog now I guess? I would not want to meet up with him on a dark night. Unless he was my horsie.
ReplyDeleteBig dog!!!! I like the new heading it is very cute!
ReplyDeleteI think this dog is owned by someone near me. Which I'm only saying so that you will fill with envy.
ReplyDeletewait, that's a DOG??? oh sweet jesus.
ReplyDeleteand, the header totally ROCKS.
Does that dog eat dinner at the table with the rest of the family?
ReplyDeleteThat's not a dog. It's a horse in a dog suit. Like the new header!
ReplyDeleteLove your new header!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge dog; I'd have to put him in uniform and make him work around the house. For his keep, ya know.
That's more like a pony! (Like the new moving header too!)
ReplyDeleteCool header, man! Let's here it for talented family members!
ReplyDeleteDog? Kind of scary big. We had neighbors growing up that had a Newfoundland dog. Big and slobbery are the two words that come to mind. Do the boys try to ride him?
That is a gorgeous beast! Love the new header too.
ReplyDeleteMy friends have a Tibetan Mastiff which, until I saw this photo, I believed was the the biggest dog on earth.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see a big dog I always imagine having to shovel up there crap in the yard.
Who would want this thing? Why not just get a horse or cow?
Love the header!
ReplyDeleteAs for the dog, Im with mo.stoneskin ... faker!
Holy moly that's one ginormous dog!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new header! And *whew!* I thought I was going crazy when I stopped by over the weekend to no text. ;)
Sorry, Braja's comment totally stole your thunder. The header is great though!
ReplyDeleteThe new header is really cool. And the dog is downright AWESOME! Really, does he help you save money on your commute because you can ride him?
ReplyDeleteI love the full action header! It's like a flip book.
ReplyDeleteOMG what a huge dog. What does he cost to feed. lol..
ReplyDeleteLove the new header too.
That dog could totally eat the beast as a light snack!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I think Boomer must poop bigger than my dog. My Maltese is 4 lbs of fury (and yes, he's full grown). Sweet heavens I'd hate to have to clean up after that. My other two are a *slightly* obese (but don't tell her) 22 lb Pug and a 12 lb Pekingnese. Boomer's feet are probably the size of the other 2. Seriously? That's a dog? Is he yours?
ReplyDeleteLove the new header!! And I am not sure if it is completely sanitary to have a horse (that vaguely looks like a dog) in your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteWho needs a horse when you've got boomer? You could rent him out for birthday party, you know make a few bucks....
ReplyDeleteI love the design team. They did an awesome job.
Like the animated picture— kind of reminds me of the old black and white movies.
ReplyDeleteI went ahead and changed my design to fit the season. Currently I have Jack O lanterns, but will change my background as the seasons progress.
I think it is you dressed up in dag's costume for Halloween practice.
ReplyDeleteThe header is totally awesome. I hope she charged you a lot of Canadian cash for that. Also, didn't I hear somewhere that you were doing a HeRead/SheRead on Wednesday? Oh, yeah! With me!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the header!!! Its great the way it is - so no worries about taking credit where its not due *wink*
ReplyDeleteThat is one frikken big dog - I used to walk on a dog walk in Port Moody and Lynn Collier (from Global) would walk her Irish Wolfhound with us - and that was one BIG dog but this one is HUGE!!
that's a big fucking dog.
ReplyDeletelove the new header. LOVE.
I have a friend that has two Newfoundlands and a Great Mastiff. It’s a good thing her yard is five acres and totally fenced in. I do not envy her bill at PetSmart though.
ReplyDeleteI love the new header, btw.
Please tell me he's getting his own drink of water. I love the idea so much I'm going to have a 2 foot high sink installed in my kitchen for our labradorks. Or, I could just keep leaving the toilet lid open.
ReplyDeleteI always liked a dog you could saddle and ride into town. At what point do dogs cross the line between canine and dire wolf?
ReplyDeleteNewfies are supposed to be really gentle, sweet dogs.
ReplyDeleteAnd again, love the header!
Oh, I adore newfoundlands! They're so big and drooly!
ReplyDeleteI bet the owners don't have to worry about anyone trying to break in....
All you need is a Kid, a Saddle and rope.
ReplyDeleteThe End.
Love the new heading...I see no gap, LOL!
ReplyDeletemuch love
That header rocks.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes that is a horse. Do you sell trips around the block?
Can't fool me, I know that is just a mini kitchen there.
ReplyDeleteYou have to get up earlier than that Captain.
Oh, and that header is way cool.
It's like a horse dog. Great header, by the way.
ReplyDeletetoo bad he doesn't have thumbs - he could wash the dishes...or at least mop the floor....
ReplyDeleteQ. What does that dog eat for dinner?
ReplyDeleteA. Anything it wants.
that is a very very big dawg.
ReplyDeletei cant imagine feeding it.
take out a second mortgage.
Wow that itty bitty puppy is so dang cute. And your new header rocks.
ReplyDeleteClearly, that is a pony.
ReplyDeletewonder how many people have to help carry the poop bag! LOL!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest son is turning 29 tomorrow and his brother was born 17 months later. I put together a "SAM" photo book for his b'day ... he didnt have many alone after those first 17 months! So your younger son will appreciate the attention!
Love reading yall!
your new header is like, so TECHNOLOGICAL or something. like, i don't know if i can, like, handle it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a house cow, not a dog.
ReplyDeleteThat is one big ass dog. But I bet he's fun to shnuggle with. Yes, I said shnuggle. Love the new look!
ReplyDeleteThe header rocks!
ReplyDeleteAnd we had a great Dane, but he peaked out at 150, but he could eat off the table with no problem!
The new header is (dare I say it?)...tits.
ReplyDeleteArgh ... I can't see the header ... the photo must be on some blocked site ... I'll check it when I get home.
ReplyDeleteThat dog is HUMONGOUS ... I'm picking up my canine kids in the morning ... they're little cutie-pie-pumpkin heads. Not big at all.
If I had a house ... I'd want a huge dog like that though ... it would just be hilarious!
Now THAT's an unwelcome house guest...but does he do dishes??
ReplyDeleteYer title is GREAT.
More unsolicited advice... try looking for padding and decreasing it?
Shit dude! I LOVE that dog. I would totally get one!! He even appears to do dishes. Although, I gotta admit before I realized that was a rug, I thought he had made a bigger mess, which would indicate that perhaps he is not suitable for housework. BUT, it was a rug. I'm getting me one! SOO much better than a dingo - OR, frankly, our local guards. al-Qa'ida would be too scared to try to kill me!!
ReplyDeletePS love the header. That is really cool. It's like a movie. But kinda short.
Love the horse--er--dog. Love the banner. Sorry I've been away so long.
ReplyDeleteLove the new header!
ReplyDeleteThat dog is beyond amazing. Standing on his hind legs he'd be two feet taller than me. Good Lord, he's like a small horse. And probably costs as much to feed.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the new header!!!
ReplyDeleteTHAT is your dog?!?!?!
That's exactly the kind of dog I need. It's big enough for me to ride, and I'm big enough to pick up it's undoubtedly gigantic poo.
ReplyDeleteGreat header. Really love it. And newfies? Are all pretty damn big. My parents have one, and she's so dang tall, she helps herself to whatever she wants off our plates.
ReplyDeleteObviously, she's not real well trained.
Holy fucking dog. That thing is HUGE. I love it. And I dig the new look, it's all move-y and stuff. Cool.
ReplyDeleteThat header is awesome. That dog...seriously frightening. He's bigger than our neighbor's horse!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, that's not a dog--it's a MOOSE!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, that's a midget's kitchen, right?
ReplyDelete
