Moore... Benjamin Moore

I should insert some James Bond-ish picture here, but I'm too lazy for that. I finally finished my last painting project in the house, the master bedroom. Which would make me the MASTER. Muah ha haa! I need an Igor. I could use the kids but they're too disobedient. Meh. Anyway, two months + of removing wallpaper that went up some time between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back and two days to paint. What? Oh, Summer Mist:

You know what? That's a lie. It was waaaaaaay longer than two months. I started pulling off that crap ages ago. That's when I discovered the layer of paper bag like... well, paper still attached to the wall and gave up for awhile. Then there was a few half-hearted attempts to pick it off followed by fabric softener in a spray bottle, buckets of hot water and a garden hoe and finally just setting it on fire. Whatever, it's all in the past.

I didn't do Random Tuesday yesterday, partly because of all the painting, but mostly because it's the most wonderful time of the year! No, I'm not referring to that Staples commercial and the kids going back to school. Whatever. It's mid-September and that means season premiers and the start of the new TV season. Bones and Fringe started last week, Weeds started Sunday and Monday was back to back House and Heroes! New shows from eight til midnight! (Oh and if you watch Fringe, was that scene where Agent Dunham flies through the window of her SUV an hour after the accident cool or what?) In fact, as I'm writing this last night (heh) I'm watching NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles. Mmm, Cote de Pablo. There's just something about a woman who can handle a gun. Speaking of guns, Summer Glau is on Dollhouse now that Sarah Connor is cancelled, but I don't know. As much as I love her, I just can't get into that show. Grey's Anatomy starts tomorrow which means two hours of me weeping in Supreme Leader's arms as she mutters about me acting like a girl and telling me to bitch up. Quality time.

Hmm? I know I was leading towards something when I started, or at least I assume I was, but it's gone now. So paint and TV! Peace out!

  1. Yes, yes, yes!! I am inundated in TV over here, too. What I'm not stealing through illicit streaming websites, I am buying on iTunes. I am reading Entertainment Weekly online and am all aflutter over premieres and new shows and ....

I guess I'll stop there and just say... You know what I mean.

So, what did you think of the House premiere?? Mixed reviews on EW gave me the cold sweats b/c I love that show and don't want to be disappointed if I invest the two hours in watching it.

  2. Okay the males in my house absolutely refuse to have anything to do with either House or Greys Anatomy. Are you sure you're a m.....!?

  3. I swear if you ruin the House premier for me I will hunt you down. Seriously. I will send KiKi the Destroyer after you!

  4. "which means two hours of me weeping in Supreme Leader's arms as she mutters about me acting like a girl and telling me to bitch up."

    That's some funny shit.

For about the past six years I am completely incapable of committing to TV shows. I know, I'm a loser.

  5. And are we forever happy with the summer mist or will you be repainting again next summer?

  6. How the heck do you fit all that TV time in? Clearly your boys haven't started travel hockey yet.

  8. You are such a mangina. Crying over Grey's. I'm going to do my best to pretend I'm not crying.

I'm so stoked that TV is back. Finally.

  9. NCIS Yes, did not get to NCIS LA as had to go walk during that time. So blah! Oh well, otherwise it is Project Runway and Top Chef. 3 shows a week and I have a hard time making time for them.

  10. WHAT??? Weeds? Season premier and I missed it???? THIS is not happening. I don't know what to say.

Proud of you for finishing the painting (she types as she stares at the yet to be finished mural).

You're a mangina...I will laugh my ass of on that word all day....

    xo, Mango

  11. Seriously? No one touched the obvious Master(bater) line?

Am I the only one with a sense of humor more suited to 12 year old boys and the locker room?

    Not surprising, I guess.

Since I only get one channel, the only show I've seen so far is Heroes and it kicked MAJOR ASS!!!!!!

Love my Peter (that's what she said) and Hiro.

  13. Paint and tv yes! I Can't wait for Big Love to start back (for some reason I love that show) but this is a great time of year.
I don;t watch that many shows because night time seems to be the only time for some writing but I do love House!

At least you're painting my husband said he was going to do it and we're still waiting 3 months later :)

  14. I still haven't watched House yet ... week one and I'm already behind. I've got 4 hours worth of catch up on the DVR since Monday, plus all of the Craig Ferguson that I haven't watched yet.
I love that you're showing Fringe some love. It is my new X-files (OK, early X-files). When Walter was in the car and it started doing stuff, I thought to myself "Oh, no ..."
I'm already overcommitted on my TV schedule, trying to decide if I want to try any of the new stuff.

  15. YES!!! Season premiere week is here. But with that comes football. Argh. Compromise.

  16. So, does that mean the days of the painted statements are gone? Or is Beer:30 still around?

  17. You should have just painted over the wallpaper. Then you won't have that freaky smooth texture you get with just walls and paint.

  18. GREEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSS!!! Oh, we can't wait! On an unfortunate note, it will be my birthday...the birthday part is not the unfortunate part, it is the part where we aren't going to see Grey's until FRIDAY! WTF! Thank the DVR gods for DVR or we might have a heart attack!

We are all about the sitcoms though...Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two and A Half Men...

AND don't forget about Desperate Housewives! Great show there!

P.S. Bobby and Krystal cry non-stop during Grey's. Don't feel bad.

  19. I just finished painted my bedroom along with my mother's. She'd like to claim that she helped but she didn't. I feel your pain.

  20. I'm in a kind of limbo with the Dollhouse... I watched it, but never really got into it. I'm a HUGE Firefly fan so, Summer's coming on? I'm there.

  21. You know, if you add clouds to that ceiling, it will look just like my bathroom. Then I could send you the template for the Simpsons' Logo and SL would have something to read while....nevermind.

WTF? Google isn't recognizing me this a.m.???

  22. TV shows with fictional characters? Not in this house while hubby is awake. He has the remote surgically attached to his hand. I can only sneak in repeats of House and Fringe, which are two shows I absolutely LOVE, when he's asleep or not here.
Now that you're done with your house, come on over and show me how to remove wallpaper that was put on before Saturday Night Fever hit the big screen. It's driving me insane. BTW, how are you with a scraper? Any tips for getting rid of peeling paint? I only go to the experts . . .

  23. A man who admits to sobbing at Grey's? Sigh.
I think you're my new hero.

  24. You don't need an Igor, you already have two Mini-me's. Mini-me was pretty disobedient at times too.

  25. Ackkk wallpaper!!!

I was going to post about Monday night - I was too busy because of the H words House and Heros - thank goodness for PVR!!!

Didja know that Fringe is filmed in our backyard now. I had to stop myself halfway through the show trying to pick out landmarks - just sit back and enjoy!!

  26. I love Fringe, Walter is the best. And I didn't know Bones was back, I have to get on the ball. And I thought they canceled Dollhouse.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I've actually been looking forward more to the new shows than anything else. Tonight is that new one about Family Life? After the way they've promoted it, they better bring their A game!

    ReplyDelete
  28. What? People are still watching Heroes?

    Seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I kept reading that show title as "Fridge" and I was like, "Hey how come I've never heard of that show? Speaking of fridge, I sure am hungry!"

My brain is such an asshole.

  30. What did you think of House? Granted I never saw anything from last season except the last two episodes (freakin British tv feed). But I was eh about the whole thing. It was good but...lacking? Or was it just me?

Anyway, can't wait for Grey's although again I only saw the last episode from the last season (again freakin' British tv always a season behind!) But I'll likely make my kids stay up an watch so I have someone to blubber to when Izzy dies...

  31. Geezus!! I don't have any TV here - not even stupid AFN! It's an unspeakable outrage. I'm being forced to READ!

It's cruel and inhumane, is what it is. I should file some kind of grievance with the international criminal court - don't they do geneva convention violations?? Tell me what to do Canada! (no hard feelings about the whole blaming Canada thing, right??)

    ReplyDelete
  32. House was AWESOME! I was so excited. Tonight is Criminal Minds. And new adventures of Old Christine, which I like a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  33. We painted a spare bedroom a couple years back and mixed two discard colors together to get a light but bright green. We named it 'Baby Clover' and now that is the name that has stuck for that room. Enjoy your Summer Mist room.

And I am looking for a good show on DVD. Will Fringe Season 1 fit the bill?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love Fringe. That scene was awesome. I love Walter. The world needs more mad scientists.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Love the color.

And I'm pretty excited about premieres - although I generally have to watch them the next day when my kids nap. I've gotten into far too many shows... I barely have enough time to keep up on my old favorites let alone new ones!

I hate it that we already know that George dies (it's not a spoiler - he left the show). A cliffhanger ending is supposed to leave you guessing - not reading about an actor's cancelled contract in US Weekly. I'm hoping that they're leading us to believe that he dies when they're really just shipping him off to recover (which will of course take a long time) and maybe bring him back.

And I totally missed Heroes! I thought it started next week... I think I need to set up an official schedule in my calendar.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Love the color. Good thing you finished before all the new shows started.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't even watch tv anymore! I comment on people's blogs about watching tv! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm so glad you corrected yourself there, buddy, because I was totally gonna bust you out about the wallpaper. You've been working on that since like the beginning of the last TV season.

I effing missed Bones the other night. I forgot to reprogram my Tivo since we moved and nothing was set up to record. Thank god I caught it before Grey's starts. Watched a tiny hint of a preview and I already want to punch Izzy in her bescarfed head. But I'll be sobbing right along with ya tomorrow night. Normally I would call you a baby sissy pants for crying over George, but I got the hormones right now and I cry at everything. Dammit.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh, and congrats on the paint! I like the color. It's soothing.

  40. There is evidence here that this post was written in English.

    But I can't find it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. if given the choice between pulling off wallpaper or moving, i'd choose moving.

  42. I hate painting.

I did, however, recently fix my toilet, fix my garage door opener, fix my computer and washed and vacuumed out my car. AND I prepared 2 to 3 meals a day for 9 or 10 days! That's more cooking than I've done in a year!

I need another vacation... one I can take all. by. myself.

    ReplyDelete
  43. OMG I feel like I've just met a new girlfriend!!! I watch nearly everything you do. C'mon ... you know me ... I'm a HUGE Self-annointed TV JUNKIE!!!!

We'll have to get you into dollhouse though FUH SHO!

    ReplyDelete
  44. thank god for my tivo....i used to hate this time of year, cuz it is invariably the busiest time of the year and I never got to sit home from 7 - 10 and watch tv...but NOW...mwhahahahahhhaaa....not only do I not have to sit there at prime social times, but i can fast forward through all the commercials!! wah hoooo...here's to the new season!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. At least you didn't try and tell us it was Duck Egg Blue, cos then I'd have had to slap you....

  46. Wallpaper is the work of Satan.

    That is all.

    ReplyDelete
  47. LMAO at Carolyn's comment 'cause she's so right about wallpaper.

  48. I loved, loved, loved NCIS (because I am a nerd.) I just love it when you're like, "OMG, what is going to happen?" and then Gibbs just shots the shit out of people. I couldn't get into LA though, as much as I enjoy LL and his lovely, lovely arms. And his lovely everything else. I just couldn't get over the Chris O'Donnell-ness of Chris O'Donnell.

  49. Ok, enough, go outside and play!

  50. by the way, have you never heard of
renting a machine from any paint shop this will make wallpaper removal easy? I used one to remove eons of wallpaper from old house, hmmm, knew I should have
had you come and help. Would have
    saved you lots of time.

  51. Wait, I thought Dollhouse started THIS week? Crap. This is what I get for hiding from the outside world.
