Random Tuesday: What Are You Doing, Dave?

randomtuesday

Except not really because I'm writing this last Friday night (hello future!). I have to take my dying computer in for emergency surgery. Either that or see if I can skip my flat iMac like a pebble across my backyard after its gone through my window. That's not fair, my Mac is ancient, computer wise. And I want to make sure the problem(s) lie(s) with it before screaming at my internet provider.

Don't like my randomless random?

Because Supreme Leader is, in some ways, just as lazy as I am, we were using a cookbook as a mouse pad for the longest time. We have a laser mouse but didn't have a proper mouse pad for it and never got around to buying one. We finally picked one up last month but the damn thing has a pattern on it and the laser bounces all over the damn place and takes my cursor with it. Screw you, technology!

Interactive murder map of New York. What? Don't give me that. We both know you're going to click on the link and try it.

I was once invited to go on the Jerry Springer show.

There's a new trailer out for 2012. I don't care if this movie doesn't have a plot... I don't care if it even has a story or actors, I just want to see all the special effects disaster. If you do watch the clip, wait until the end and see what happens to the aircraft carrier, John F. Kennedy. Cool.

That's it. You know the rest, go to Keely's and grab your own cup of purple Kool-Aid.

  1. Interactive murder map - are you serious? Of course I'm gonna click it cause its my most fav place on the planet and if I ever win the lotto I'm moving there. I've got to see the best place to live and not to be killed.

That post it is great. I think I'm going to have to borrow that one.

Happy RTT and I hope your computer comes back in better condition than it left.

  7. I hate that mouse pad conundrum. I had a shiny mouse pad at my old work and it took me half a day to figure out what the hell was wrong with my mouse. May your computer live long and prosper.

  8. Good luck on the 'puter prob. The murder map didn't take me anywhere, but now I'm curious so I'll look it up.

    Happy randomness.

  12. I don't have a mouse pad, either. Go figure, I'm lazy.

You uh, forgot some details on the Jerry Springer story.

  13. Once a Mac goes it goes permanently. Sorry. I've owned nothing but Macs since the first one came out and my experience says that when it dies, it dies spectacularly and there is generally no recovery. But at least you can avoid the blue screen of death.

And that map? I clicked on it of course. Who knew so many people in NYC got into disputes. Such a vague term for something that ends so horribly. Though there do appear to be a few areas Queens that seems safe.

  15. Your site was a lot of fun today. Of course I clicked on the interactive map and anything else I could click on! And, although I'm not a movie-goer, I AM SEEING 2012. I am so hooked after seeing the trailer . . . twice. Loved your Random Tuesday Thoughts! But why were you invited to go on Jerry Springer?

  16. Random at it's best. Fie on your mouse pad. I'm not sure how I feel about these laser mice. They do complicate things...

  17. The picture of the guy on the rocks and the ocean caused me to tilt my head this way and that so I could figure it out. It was during this motion one of my clients decided to drop in. Now there is a rumor I drink at the office.

  19. The murder map is kind of cool in a sinister way. And about the mouse mat - we've given up on it altogether. Now we have a scratched-up table instead.

  20. Need more Jerry Springer info. You tease.

There's a website here in California where you can find a map of all the registered pedophiles in your area, complete with photos and details of what they'd been convicted of. They all seem to gather together in certain neighborhoods. I only have one within a mile of my home, and he's only a flasher, so I'm like, whatever.

  23. What you need here is clickable Jerry Springer map. See if all his guests are concentrated in a few areas.

I'm guessing you have all your teeth, no major drug problems & are not married to a blood relative - why'd you get invited? Do you secretly weigh 800 lbs?

  24. Sometimes it is cool to just watch shit get blow up or destroyed.

And I did click through to the murder map. Now that is depressing. Thanks man!
