Seattle, It's A Honour Just To Be Nominated & So What If It's Monday?

So the Dumbasses are once again invading the Pacific Northwest this Friday, if we can make it across the border, that is. We'll be fine, but two of my wife's sisters are coming along and they look suspicious at the best of times. Maybe I should be nicer since they're paying for the hotel. Whatever, if my ass ends up in Federal lock up or Guantanamo because of them why should I be nice? Orange is not my colour. Though I wish it was. I like orange. The boys can wear orange, but they've got just enough of Supreme Leader's skin tone to get away with it.

What?

Anyway, if you're from Seattle or anywhere around there I need some suggestions for things to do if you if you have pets. I mean, children.

I got nominated for a Blogger's Choice Award! I didn't even know until I got an email from Jen at Blissfully Caffeinated and I was all, "no way" and she was like, "way" and I was like "no way" and she was "WAY!" OK, it didn't happen anything like that. I was nominated by Peggy from Stir Crazy in the Suburbs who is now an official BFF for life! Ryan from the Panic Room is going to win this one in a landslide, but I guess that's ok since he is somewhat handsome. For a man. What? Oh! That kind of hottest. Ok, that makes sense. I was wondering about that since Ryan's put on a few pounds and he had that Grizzly Adams thing going on for awhile. Either way, I want to beat somebody so if you could vote for me I'd appreciate it. Look, I'll bribe you with cute things like this:

Come on, that's gotta be worth something. Vote for Ryan too, I did.

And it's Monday.

Stop whining.

  1. Invading the Pacific NW you say? I'll alert my family and friends to stay indoors. Just in case.

Hmm, Seattle has a good zoo and aquarium (or used to anyway, I haven't been there in years). Of course there's Pike Place Market but I don't if kids will go for that or not. My kids like looking at dead things so...The Space Needle is always a hoot and riding the monorail if your kids like trains. I don't know. Bring an umbrella though cause it is after all Seattle.

    Have fun!

    And congrats Hot Blogger!

  2. I watched that video infinity times. OK, like 12. But that kid's got a squeal on him. I wish someone would put a sputtery balloon down my pants. *sigh* Canadians have all the fun.

  3. I'll vote for you if you agree to wear orange for the entirety of your trip.

  4. I voted for you AGES ago. Sheesh.

And I hate to tell you all, but this Blogger Award crap goes on until October and frankly I'm bored already...it's only April. Forget it. I'm makin' my own BlOscars.

  5. Voted. We gotta get you past blurbomat, that dude irritates me.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you LIVE in the Pacific Northwest? Or do Canadians think of it as the Southwest?

  6. I thought that was a water balloon...I'm totally going to try this trick. Maybe even on my husband.

I'm wondering what else you've got in your bribing cache...

(Ah, shit. No I'm not. I'm going to go vote for you because you make me feel special.)

  7. Gosh, if I knew I could bribe you to get shit, I'd have tried that a loooong time ago!
Heading over there to vote now.

  8. What's with this blogger award thing? I'm seeing them pop up all over the place!
Well, congrats, and I'll vote for you like I voted for Pseudo, which is okay since I don't think you're in the same category together. But if you were, that would be a serious integrity issue.

  9. Good for you, HotDad! I voted you all up. (Hm, does that sound bad?) I would have done it without the bribe, but holy shit was that funny!

Have a great time in Seattle!

  10. I've already voted for you, but I'll find some way to cheat and vote twice if you post another vid that cute.

  11. Hmm...I sort of thought we were already BFF's. *sigh*

As I have already told you, you were one of my first non-family commentors. If it weren't for you, I probably would have ditched the whole blogging thingy when the kitchen reno fell apart. Now look at me...a non-award winning, non-famous blogger...just like I dreamt as a little lass! :)

  12. But you already have the Super Fun Wow Japanese Bunnygurl Grantichrist Award for Outstanding Effort and Achievement in the Field of Bloggy Excellence™. What more could you possibly want?

I hope you get to hang out with Tracy and ride bitch on her scooter while you're in town.

  13. I will take your word for it and place my vote!

And as long as you don't have cold symptoms, I think those border patrol peeps will let you through :)

  14. And I've done my update. So that ought to net you about 2.4 votes!

You should probably post your Glamour Shots...if not, we can tell your hot from how cute your boys are!

  15. That video is precious. I cannot believe my son never thought of that growing up.

I think I already voted for you, but I'll go check.

Oh! almost forgot. There's an award for you at my place.

  16. Where are you staying? Downtown? Let me know the general area and I'll see what I can help with as ideas go.... plus I got a 15 yo daughter who'd babysit for a night if you want to get out without the boys. Yes, I'm volunteering.. I'm brave. ..just a thought. Email me.

  17. Go to the Pacific Science Center!! Its at the base of the Space Needle, but there's like a little fair outside (not sure if its still operating) but in the Pacific Science Center, it's like this scientific hands on children's museum. Or, if you have boys... go to the Museum of Flight.

  18. there's a really, really good train station in Seattle...and the cool thing is if you get on and throw down $200 or so you can be in LA in like 14 hours!

okay, maybe some of my numbers are skewed but the scenery would be nice.

  19. Ok, the balloon thing is worth a vote! Thanks for my Monday laugh! I live in the Midwest, so I can't help with anything Seattle-wise, but I hope you have a great time and don't, unless you want to, have to wear orange!

  20. Ok, the bribe worked. You cheered my Monday up! I'm voting, but hope you vote for me, too.

Seattle will be great fun. My little sis works for the mayor there, so we visit alot. I suggest going to the locks and watching the salmon spawn

  21. Hey! I'll vote for you!

  22. Yes, I've got an idea. Drive south to Olympia. Turn west and navigate south and west to the ocean. Then at our house we will feed you a feast of the razor clams we just dug yesterday morning. And then all you boys can make fart noises together.

How can you pass that up?

No, Pike Place Market is fun, you can see the odd folks and have some good food (now, that's like our house...) and if you go down the big hill to the waterfront check out The Old Curiosity Shoppe. Lotsa unusual things there.

  25. I would be happy if you and Ry tied. I mean you two are THE hottest daddy bloggers alive. All the smart people know that already ;)

Have fun down in Seattle (my neck o' the woods). BTW, if you haven't ever seen the tulips in Mt. Vernon, they extended it until May 10th so you could detour for a bit on your way down and see the fields of loveliness. :)

  26. I want to go to Seattle! But who cares what I want, this is your blog, so in that case....I got nothin'. Go up to the top of the space needle and point out buildings and cars?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ok, I voted. I want a pat on my back now. Hope you guys have fun in Seattle. I'd give you tips, but I've never been. Just go sightseeing and knock the kids out! Ha!

  28. This sounds ridiculous, but the REI mother ship is there - and it is really kinda fun. This is coming from someone who only purchases stuff there because I'm bored out of my mind while my hubby looks at gear - and then I get something ridiculous! It has climbing wall and track for the bikes.

  29. You are the epitomize hotness in fathers around the globe. Of course you got my vote. I paid someone to nominate me. You think my kid will mind not going to college?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dude. Ate you going to look up Traci? You must! Good luck on your blogger thing. I'll vote for you if you'll vote for me!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hey there captain, email me and let me know when and how long you will be here in my fair city. I will offer some suggestions.

    Nominated huh? Congrats Shooter.

  32. not only did I vote for you, but so did my whole family. And then some.

    xoxox

  33. I voted for you since I like your bloggy style. Wait, that sounded dirty.
Peggy is the bee's knees, really. You're lucky to have her as a BFF.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I am going to go vote for you now because you were sweet enough to mention my weight gain and bad beard. Wait. That was mean. You always get so catty when we are in competition together.

I will vote for you anyway. I am sure you will beat the hell out of me in this competition too.

As for Seattle. If you get a chance to sneak away (just the two of you) and leave the kids with the sisters. Take your lady to 13 coins. So good.

  35. They gave you a passport? Even with the uranium smuggling and ferret dealing? Geez, they'll give ANYONE credentials these days.

  36. Christ, what's up with that guy on the bike, lugging box city around with him? Some people have all the fun.

Enjoy Seattle. It's going to rain when you get there. You know that, right?

Congrats on being nominated. I'll go vote.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Off to vote. Yes. The boys are always cute. But I would've voted for you anyway.

  38. I love Pt. Definace Zoo and Aquarium. Also, the Pacific Science Center.

Pike Street Market is always fun.

The Old Curiosity Shoppe is cool (they have a mummy!), but I don't remember if it is little kid friendly or not.

    ReplyDelete
  39. You got my vote...you're in sixth place now!
