Hockey, Butter & Dinosaurs

I've been trying to get a post out for a week now.

But it's playoffs. Suck it, Vaughn.

And the last time the Vancouver Canucks made it to the 3rd round Supreme Leader and I had just got engaged. (this one's for you, hon)

I was only twelve the time before that.

So this is all I've got for now. Nothing personal.

Unless you're from San Jose, Detroit, Tampa Bay or Boston. Although I'd like to throw out a big thank you to Mary and the Red Wings for winning last night and drawing San Jose into a tiring seventh game.

  1. Hockey? That's a sport, right?

  2. Engaged, you say? Well, this must be an auspicious year.

Since the Rangers and Canadiens are out, I suppose I'll wish the Canucks the best of luck out of respect for your delicate sensibilities :)

  3. I've been slow to post since we left on vaca a month ago. But hockey as my excuse? Naaaah.

Congrats tho'! Love the sentimental photos & captions. hahahaha!

  4. It's exhausting me, as well. I sit, body clenched, through the whole damn thing!

  5. Um. I'm from Boston...

    What 'cha got?

    Bring it on BA-BY!

  7. AHHHHHHHHHHH how you just gonna throw Paula Deen right in my face like that. Isn't it bad enough that she has invaded my town with her shitty cooking?!?? For picture of Paula Deen in her robe and slippers in the streets of Savannah at 2am, please see here:

Also, it is of note that Paula Deen likes video poker...the kinds you find in the convenient stores like 7-11. Just sayin.

  8. Redwings rule! I assume that's a sports group and not the term bikers use for going down on a woman who is having her period.

  9. So, you're saying it's personal if I AM from Boston? I don't really follow hockey... I used to watch, only to stare at Cam Neely *sigh*... Is he still cute? Now I must go google him.

  10. The hockey vigil is not being kept up with as much diligence since the Sabres fell out...Laugh if you must, but it sure beats when he's rooting for the Bills!

  11. Seriously? That's it? Come on, man!

Ha! Hope all is well up in your neck o'the woods!

  12. Oy, with the hockey. Enough already. I have so many empty Labatt blue bottles in my recycling that I swear I'm keeping the GPD of Canada afloat on my own.

  13. That was an awesome Paula Dean giggle you just gave me.

  14. I am a bit ashamed to admit it, but when I saw Carrie Underwood crying during the last game, I did a little Snoopy dance of joy. Because she can suck it even more than Vaughn.

    GOO CANUCKS GO!

  15. I'm going to have Angry Birds once I evict the 5 am chirpers that built a nest behind the shutters on my bedroom window. And then had loud rowdy babies. They are living on borrowed time I tell you, borrowed time.

Eh, go Canucks. If I can't go Flyers, why not go Canada?

  16. Floor, the largest shelf. My daughter and husband have been subscribing to that for YEARS.

  17. A very comprehensive post. Particularly about Butter...never knew that. My Dallas Stars missed the playoffs so I have zero interestin the hockey world. On the other hand, The Dallas Mavericks have another good shot at the finals...if after beating the Lakers they don't step on their weenie against lesser talent!

  18. BAHAHAHAHA!

    BAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!

    WOOOOHOOOOHEEEEHEEEEEE!

Love all your picks this week! Man, it's like a high concentration of wacky randomness here.

    Go Canucks!

  19. There is not nearly enough butter in this post.

  20. I know nothing about hockey...but I did enjoy the images. "Floor: the Largest Shelf" could be my husband's life theme.

  23. I'm in San Jose visiting a friend this weekend. I don't live here but OMG! I think hockey is the new religion around here. I personally don't get it, but hey whatever floats your boat! :)

  24. I love me some Paula Dean!!! And hockey, yeah, I still don't get it - not even after all these years.

  25. I don't get into sports, but if I did, hockey would totally be my sport.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

  26. So that's why my husband hasn't emerged from the basement. That could also explain every other student wearing the same outfit every other day on campus. Same jersey different name on the back. Funny last time they got this far I was just starting new job on said campus.

PS hubby sits downstairs in his signed Linden jersey

  27. It would be nice to have a playoff team to root for.

  28. I have never played Angry Birds, but I hear it's all the rage. That cover is hilarious. We have a robin's nest in the bush outside our front door.

They don't seem so angry though.

    That floor/shelf thing? Awesome!

  29. Yes, Tampa. And we're looking good. Woot. Who am I kidding, the year we won the Stanley Cup, Jamie and I went to every single home playoff game and it was awesome. Now, I'm getting my ass handed to me by two toddlers and can barely keep my eyes open to watch it in high definition. But Jamie keeps me posted so yay, hockey.
