Curse of the Cursor

When was the last time I actually wrote anything here? Like more than a paragraph? Aside from Random Tuesday and the occasional photo, I've been floating since well before the baby was born. I should really write something. It's not like I don't have plenty of material. Like the other night  when Supreme Leader whispered to Finn that she might accidentally suffocate daddy in his sleep. That's good material. Disturbing, but quality stuff. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with when I rushed into the bathroom with the baby to take a picture of the two of us in the mirror without considering that she was in the shower at the time. She can be really touchy sometimes.

I could write about the interview I had last Monday, how it went really well because the interviewer was so easy to talk to that I didn't forget everything that I usually try to remember but completely forget because I get so nervous, but that would probably curse it and I've been let down too many times in the last year to get overly excited about it.

Or how about my oldest son who gets hardly any press anymore?

Sorry, dude, but the two little guys just have a higher cuteness factor right now and I can still get your brother Liam to do just about anything in a picture.

                                                    (Darth Maul olive lightsaber)

Besides, you were first born and we'll always have more baby photos of you than both of your brothers put together. Start letting me dress you in crazy things again and we'll talk.

Then there's always my current job where I spend a good deal of my shift writing stories for the boys on small pieces of paper while pretending to do other things. Oh ya, I'm getting paid to write.

Speaking of writing, I have to write a review for Julia of Our Simple Life who sent me a copy of the children's book she just published. That probably deserves its own post though.

And, of course, there's always the crazy stuff that the boys say, like when Connor and Liam were describing a mission in Mario Galaxy where they hit the bad guy in the private parts until he gets mad. It's actually a large ball on the end of his tail, but some things don't need to be corrected. At least not right away.

Ya, I really need to write something, but until Finn can make it through the night without feeding every five minutes, or demanding to stay awake with daddy to see what's on late night then I'm going to keep falling back on gratuitous shots of him.

Cause this is exactly how I feel 24/7 right now. Oh, and I guess Supreme Leader does too.

  2. smiles. those were the days...i mean nights...well they all start to blend together...nice lightsaber...glad things are going well!

  3. Your boys thought that ball was the bad guys privates?? Goodness...well, that certainly gives me pause...

And BTW...ALL your guys still got that cuteness factor...Big Time!

  4. I think it's time to let Connor in on the daddy side of things, and ask him what should be on the next cardboard sign that Liam holds up. BTW, Darth Maul was the coolest Sith Lord ever, until he became the two coolest Sith Lords, ever.

    Mick is lookin' mighty cute.

  5. Something tells me that Liam will always do what you tell in to do for a photograph. Connor just has you figured out is all. Try to get as much sleep as you can. Keeping my fingers crossed about the job.

  6. I agree with Dental maven, they've all got the cuteness factor...

    ReplyDelete
  7. You know, all that talk of lack of sleep is dissuading me from wanting another baby. But then you go and post a photo of Finn and I'm like, "Wha? Who needs sleep when you have a tiny perfect person?"

    ReplyDelete
  8. That was good enough for me, Cap'n. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  9. i wonder hoe many hits to the privates it takes to upset the fellow.

it only takes one for me....

    great post.

  10. lovin' the olive lightsaber.

  11. Well, I for one, have been missing all your witty writing like mad. But since you have a new little one (and you're getting old) I've decided to cut you some slack. I'll continue to keep the pestering to a minimum.

As usual, your boys are adorable. Maybe you should start taking naps with them... have you tried that yet?

  12. Nice to see an update, although I certainly understand how busy your life is now. And yes, napping is key.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I was going to post a witty comment about you being suffocated, but then I was distracted by the picture of Finn.

    D'AWWW. SO CUTE.

  14. sounds pretty perfect to me....

    smiles

  15. Well, it's about time! And yes, Connor needs more press. He's a cutie pie too. And probably quite smart. Maybe he can come up with some of his own shenanigans for the blog. I got so random this week, I had to do it on a Wed. There's an interesting convo about Star Wars on it that you might like. Is Han Solo a sidekick or a main character? Hmmmmm....

  16. I'm perfectly fine seeing gratuitous shots of a cute (and let's face it, selfish) baby.

    ReplyDelete
  17. So, what you're actually saying is Supreme Leader is slacking or am I just reading between the lines?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Babies are so selfish like that. I hope you're keeping detailed accounts of all the care he requires so you can present him with a bill at age 13.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I am powerless against such cuteness. And as such, unable to leave any witty comments.

    ReplyDelete
  20. D'oh, your kid just made me yawn.

I'm good with the status quo. I figure, the most I give you guys is a picture and a RTT some weeks. And good for you for blaming it on Finn. I know little o has taken it for the team lately.

  21. Rest assured that you wrote a great post today. With extra bonus awesome pics.

    ReplyDelete
  22. All your boys are adorable! I'm having the same problem, seems like I have no time for blogging, so it's been mostly picture posts.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm all for more Finn pics!!! :)

It's nice to hear your 'voice'....get some rest - this post can hold the blog for a couple of days....just don't rest too long - We Miss You!!

  24. just post photo of adorable baby and you will be forgiven

  25. Cute, cute and more cute! Lovin' the olive light saber...that's awesome...

  27. Don't worry Cap'n. You can't go wrong with gratuitous baby shots, you know we gobble them up like dieters that have fallen off the wagon right in front of the dessert section of the buffet. And Connor and Liam are still just as gobble-icious as the wee one. (Although you're right that Liam is the more entertaining of the three right now.)

Also, I'm directing "hire the Captain" themed Jedi mind tricks at your interviewer as we speak. May the (work)force be hiring you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is gold, my friend. No excuses necessary, you's a daddy!

Interview: I understand, man, I understand.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Brilliant! Well that was writing wasn't it?! Good enough in my book :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Your kids are so cute! And I've definitely missed your writing, but the pics are always great!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Great set of kids dude...you should be proud and happy and complete!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well you make me laugh with your random-randomness anyway. You have your hands full right now and that's plenty without feeling like you are supposed to write on your blog.

I am feeling a bit honored at the moment for probably getting my own post too. Thanks!

BTW. On Bingo's book, I just got my first pan on Amazon. So be gentle I tell ya. Actually, say what you will. My skin thickens daily.

    ReplyDelete
  33. You have the cutest freakin' kids ever!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Always a joy when you post - consume your words with haste, then come back to read again and savor slowly.

    ReplyDelete
  35. ZOMG squishy baby!!!

You know, I think Connor must take after his mother. He has your number, Dumbass.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think you're allowed a little downtime. I keep staring at the blank Blogger page and not posting anything, either, and I don't even have a newborn.

Also, NOM NOM NOM NOM UBER CUTE BABY!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Even though you are still overflowing with great material I am sure it is hard to find the time and energy. I am excited to think about being able to coax crazy pics from my boy.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah Connor. Just cos he's too smart to get sucked into your evil plots...he deserves equal
    time.
Pics of Liam and Finn are great too.
What have u done now? Why is Supreme Leader
thinking about suffocating you in your sleep?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Holy crap that girl can make you forget what it is you really wanted to say.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Your kids' cuteness factor is way off the charts, even the oldest who doesn't want to dress up anymore. :)

Yes, there's nothing like a newborn to get your inner clock all screwed up. Sleep when you can.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Gratuitous shots still do the trick. Looks like he is in the first stages of the 'point the fingers at his eyes, then to yours' gesture. Very cool.

    ReplyDelete
  42. All three of your boys are adorable, but that Finn, what a cutie he is. But then, I love babies so very much. I'd have another one of my own, but, well, they tend to grow out of that baby phase and start talking back.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Connor should be glad he's not getting so much press, since he's old enough to get embarrassed. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. holy crap! did i miss the birth of your little one? this is what i get when i just fall off of the blogging universe for a bit. he's adorable for sure! congrats to you and mostly to the supreme leader for not only giving birth, but putting up with you too ~~c(o:

i had to laugh about how you will have more photos of the oldest than the other two combined. that's actually true in my case, but then there IS a 10yr age difference between my 23 yo and my 13 yo lol i was noticing that i had even less of my 11 yo. wonder why that happens. lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. See? Here's where you have the advantage. You could decide to take a month off from posting any kind of text and--instead--run baby and kid photos and we'd STILL show up in droves. So not fair!

    ReplyDelete
  46. i remember the day when my younger, cuter sister arrived & i was no longer the centre of all atention, what a bummer :(

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's usually the middle child who gets left out!! My middle sister to this day still believes this happens. The oldest has the most photos taken of her because she was the first child and they were entranced. But then they had child #2 just 15 months later and it wasn't so entrancing....
But then child #3 (moi) came along five years later and it was entrancing again.
So your 2nd child is REALLY lucky he's not left out completely.
But maybe he will be once that baby starts doing more than just sleep and cause you to lose sleep.

    Cute kids!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like the one eye partially open look - it goes with anything.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think cute baby pictures are perfectly adequate right now. Keep 'em coming.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I read that whole post then forgot everything because of the massive amount of cuteness at the end!

    ReplyDelete
  51. We will take gratuitous shots of Finn. Every time.

    Ellie

    ReplyDelete
  52. Miss the cuteness...don't miss the middle of the night escapades.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love the fact the firstborn gets a couple of massive albums dedicated to their existence, the secondborn gets a couple of pages, the thirdborn gets a photo IF THEY ARE LUCKY and anyone after that is pretty much anonymous. Of course, as a firstborn, that suits me fine.

Come on, sailor. I love you long time.
