RTT: Happiness

Connor: Are my cheeks pink? That means I'm cute

randomtuesday

Friday afternoon Connor came down with flu and Sunday night was Liam's turn. What happens when your four year old pukes all over the sofa? Improvise, Adapt and Overcome.

The rear seats of a Dodge Caravan are the same size as a love seat. I am the Marine Corps of daddies. Hoo-rah!

Nostradamus and 2012. Swear to god if you bring that Russian up in conversation anywhere near me and I'll gut you with something rusty.

Supreme Leader: What do you want for lunch?
Connor: Roast beef
Supreme Leader: PBJ?

RAINFALL WARNING: Greater Vancouver
WIND WARNING: Greater Vancouver

Thanks, El Niño.

I was lucky enough to go shopping with both my mother and father-in-law last Sunday. They argue over everything they put in the cart. Every. Single. Thing.

Does anybody remember 1981's Clash of the Titans?

Keely's is that way.

  2. fast thinking, now will the love seat fit in the cargo van?

  3. Good job with the seat! LOL!

I loved Clash of the Titans! Imagine what a remake that they could do with that these days!?

  4. Hey, headrests on a sofa seem like a pretty damn good idea!

  5. Please assure Connor that he is definitely cute. And Liam looks like he could use some pink cheeks right about now. Poor baby. The third row was a stroke of genius!

  6. I went back and watch Clash of the Titans with my kids recently. The effects were less special and more "stupid" according to them. It's okay though. I sold them into slavery after that.

  7. Even though I shall watch the 'new' Clash of the Titans.... nothing will beat Harry Hamlin and the crappy effects. That's what makes it a great movie!!

oh.. yeah.. I'm still around. I know you thought you got lucky. There you go thinking..

  8. I love the minivan seats. That is pure genuis. I've said that before but I think you topped your own genuis level this time.

  9. I remember Clash of the Titans. It had horrendous stop-motion effects years after Star Wars proved what Hollywood could actually do, a stupid mechanical owl, and a hero I best remembered for standing around with his mouth open looking bewildered and a bit gay, but it was redeemed by a booby shot and two quick views of female buttocks. (that was before Internet porn, so I had to enjoy what I could get in my rural, conservative environment) I give it a 7.

  10. I love Clash of the Titans, I used to watch it with my dad all the time! lol

  11. Fast thinking with the minivan seat, but I really loved the lunch conversation. Did you know, PBJ is the new roast beef. Your wife is ahead of the game.

  12. I'm going to have to see the re-make :)

I hope that Liam and Connor get better soon! And the Dodge Caravan seat?

    Genius.

  13. Being a Navy SEAL of parenting, I would have just put a washable blanket over the puke and then put the little one back to rest on it. But I respect your chutzpah, soldier!

Did you feel the quake where you are???

    ReplyDelete
  14. El Nino! Spanish for the Nino!

    Connor is always cute.

  15. I shop alone. For that reason and that reason alone, John is still alive.
That man just farts impulse buys.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jenni is awesome for remembering good ole Chris Farley. My son has thrown up on me and his monkey twice in the past few days. No mini van seat can fix that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. way cool ... the dodge seat in the house, rocking! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Gee the Van seat reminds me of more a MacGyver dad. Sunny today!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. You are a brilliant dad!!
I think most moms would have cleaned up the couch really well while the sick child lay in a chair. We would have scrubbed it and washed it really well, then dried it with a hair dryer, and then laid down a soft comfy blanket and then put our poor, sick ailing child down on it and cuddled up with them.
Bringing in the rear seats of the van - very creative!

  20. PBJ is the breakfast, lunch and dinner of champions...especially if eaten on van seats with a hedgehog nearby!

    ReplyDelete
  21. You are like Macgyver, dude.

And was that an echidna or a hedgehog? If a hedgehog, was its name Spiny Norman?

    ReplyDelete
  22. omg, that picture of the caravan seat should be named "You know you're a redneck when...."
    Total awesomesauce.

    ReplyDelete
  23. oh that Bench looks like a part I need for the rust bucket, it would add value even with the puke. hmmmmmmmmmm

    bummer on the flu! evil!

    ReplyDelete
  24. oh poop. sorry bout the flu. mr. curry's down.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Is it a hedgehog? I thought it was a porcupine! Either way it is kind of ugly....

    ReplyDelete
  26. Your kids are freakin' hilarious. I love the mini van seat in the family room. Tres classy, man. You rock! Your hedgehog is cute... don't tell SL I said that...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I knew you were clever, but using a mini-van as a love seat is just brilliant!

Nope, never saw Clash of the Titans. What AM I missing?

Hedgehogs belong outside . . . no matter how cute they are.

Hope the boys are feeling better. I hope you and SL stay healthy!

  28. Nostradamus can kiss my ass.

I love how you call yourself 'Supreme Leader.' That's hilarious.

Is that a hedgehog drinking milk? That is so cute!

I remember Clash of the Titans, but I never saw it. I might have to though.

I hope your little ones feel better soon.

    Have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  29. So you tore the seats out the car, just to avoid wiping up puke?

    You must be Canadian.....

    ReplyDelete
  30. Fantastic idea and very quick thinking!! Hope the boys are well now... and why am I not allowed to tell you that I'm going to see 2012 tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Always a pleasure stopping by. I hope the little dudes are feeling better.

I will confess, when I opened my fortune cookie tonight I thought of you

Maybe I'm just feeling guilty about nicking your loafers yesterday

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am wondering if your van is seatless or you just found that somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Remember Clash of the Titans? Dude, that movie is one of the greatest, funnest cheese-fests of all time! PERSEUUUUUUUUSSS!

    Hope the boys are better.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm with you on Nostradumbass. He must have
been a cheery soul to live with! Sorry to hear
about kids being sick. I have a big kid sick
    here.
Why is it that men "suffer" so much with a cold or the flu? That's the kind of question
old Nosti should have been seeking answers to.

as to the puking on the furniture, yes, you
are a very creative Daddy. So where were
your great solutions the day your best friend
puked in the back of my car?
    Have a happy day!

    ReplyDelete
  35. So...you just THREW OUT your couch?

Did I miss an important plot point?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Rock the Casbah! I love The Clash!

Uh, sorry, wrong media. I actually loved Clash of the Titans.

Soooo, why is the seat out of the mini-van? Did you put a full size water bed in the back and turn it into the 'love mobile' or did the boys talk you into turning into a mash pit for them...with The Clash playing on the stereo?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've thought about getting a van just so I'll have a love seat when we go camping. Looks great in the living room too. ;-)

hedgehogs are cute little buggers. :D

    ReplyDelete
  38. I so pitty you and your kids with the flu! It sucks my big left toe.

What is the akidna(?) doing drinking milk?

I DO remember clash of the titans. Flash back to 10 years old...NOT. That trailer looks good, and I don't like violence.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Haha, you are a good dad! My parents probably would have had me sleep on the car's seats too, but you know, in the car. Hey, they were practical people and the upholstery was vinyl.

    Hope everybody's feeling better soon.

    ReplyDelete
  40. we had a Dodge Caravan before i smushed it up.

    love the seating!

lola threw up all night sat. literally. from 9pm to 7am. !!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hey, I don't know if you 'do' awards, but you have one at my blog. If you don't do them, just ignore it. :-)

Also, do you mind if I add you to my blogroll? I can't recall if I asked you that already or not.

    Have a great Friday!

  42. I just threw a pillow over a couple of Lukas' puke stains from Sunday. Will get around to washing it someday.

  43. That van seat thing is genius.

  45. Hope the little one is on the mend. Good job with the car cushions! Very clever.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I gotta agree with Sherendipity up there....and the hedgehog pic? Too.Freakin.Cute. I may have to use that sometime...shall I label photographer as El Amazing Captain Dumbass?? ...Seriously, you got him drinking milk?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Just read your new post.. ok going backwards... did your son hear you talking about 2012?

Love your sons position on the couch.. cute

    ReplyDelete
  51. That couch thing is genius but you could also just flip the cushions. It'll take at least a week for the smell to rot through.

We went shopping for a new couch today as a result of Graham's stomach flew a few months back.

Come on, sailor. I love you long time.
