DUCK!

Ok, so they're not ducks, they're Snow Geese but SNOW GEESE! just doesn't work. Before leaving for my bike ride yesterday morning I told Supreme Leader that I'd better take the camera because if I didn't then an eagle would land on my handle bars or something. No eagles, but I did get about ten thousand geese. The video is a little choppy and you might want to turn down the sound a little because it was windy.

I can't believe I came out of that clean.

**PICTURE ALERT**

Last weeks Fall picture post went over pretty well, I think, so I decided to do another for this Friday but give everyone a little more time to send them in. So this week, how about pumpkin patch pictures? Send me pics of your little ones in the pumpkin patch. If you don't have little ones, send nieces or nephews, friends, whatever. If your little ones are now big ones, send old pictures. If you have none of the above, take a picture of a pumpkin. This is open to everyone, including the lurkers. Come on, don't be shy! Once again, the email is:

ctordoff@yahoo.ca

I was thinking of doing Halloween pictures, but since it's not until Friday I figured it would be easier to let everybody take their pictures Friday and then send them in next week. What do you think? Guess we'll see how this one goes.

  1. It's like they thought, "Oh Crap! A guy with a toque!" and all took off. Then, they attention spans being rather short, mid flight they thought, "Hey! I know where there's some nice open water!" and turned the hell around.

  2. That was stunning. I love it when I can hear the geese coming, and turn and see the V flying across the sky!!!

  3. Wow, I guess the laws of Physics don't apply here. How else could I be # 3 and 4 at the same time?
Would you accept a picture of the pumpkin patch even though I already did a photo essay on it?
Would like to participate in this one..

  4. You didn't get pooped on by any of those geese, did you? What a strange sight to see (we get seagulls in droves by the beach down here) but wow. Glad you had the camera for that one! FIFTH?!?

  7. Not even close to first! You're so popular. Sadly, I won't be able to see this video until tonight. I can't see them at work. I know, it's like it's the early 1990s at my office for some reason. Also, you want pumpkin pictures? I'll give you pumpkin pictures!!

This picture thing is a great idea!

  11. WTF BLOGGER! It just ate my damn comment. And it was a good comment that I cannot possibly recreate correctly now, with the anger surging through my veins.

Awesome geese. An eagle would have been better.

    There you go.

    Gah!

  17. Oh, one other thing, sorry:

I don't usually do this (plug my own post), but check out my post today for a line in the vid there that I put in near the beginning with a reference to Canada, eh?

  18. It's like a scene from a Alfred Hitchcock movie. I'm scared! The birds! The birds! that was cool and I loved when you said "Oh shit! They're coming back!" Haaaaa! Cracked me right up.

  19. I'm BAAAAACK. Um, in the states we have sort of an arrangement with the birds. The other day a seagull (Utah's state bird. I'm. Not. Kidding.) shat on my car. I got out of the car and shouted to the sky, "It's on birt!" My across the street neighbor won't maintain eye contact with me any longer. Also? Did you know I have an irrational fear of birds? I DO. I have been pegged in the head, not once, but twice by ravens in my hometown cemetary. I used to run it every morning. Also? I've been attacked by a goose. I've been goosed (by Jeremy) and two seagulls (still our state bird) have pooped on me. What did I ever do to them?
