A Warm Red Giveaway

Last night the Olympic torch passed by our house as it made its way around Greater Vancouver, and not wanting the kids to miss something special that they'll totally forget in a few years, we dragged them out the door to catch a glimpse. They were more interested in playing Mario Brothers at the time, but once we told them they'd get to see somebody carrying a burning stick, they were all over it.

The picture below isn't the greatest, but I was holding my little point and shoot above my head, still, it was pretty impressive to witness. What amazed me more than anything though, was the amount of people lining the street. You can't really tell from this shot, but there were thousands of people out there. I don't think you ever really stop to think about just how many people live around you, at least I never have. Sure you're surrounded by houses and you see people come and go, say hi to your neighbour and such, but actually seeing all of those people lined up in one spot is pretty surprising.

Giveaway! I have been lucky enough to receive quite a few fantastic gifts from fellow bloggers in the last few weeks (blogs to follow), and with the official opening of the Olympic games only two days away now I figured it was time to give something back, and tie it in with the games. And what will it be? Well, every Olympics have their must have items, and for Vancouver it's these, the red mittens. If you live outside of Canada you probably won't have heard about them, but if you are planning to watch, trust me, you'll see a lot of them.

So here's the deal. Wait, there is no deal. Leave a comment, that's it. Feel free to tweet about it or post it in some way or whatever you want, but I only care about the comments. Who has time to count all those damn 2 votes for a tweet, blah blah blah? The unemployed guy, right. Well, this unemployed guy is too lazy for that BS. Leave a comment, leave as many as you like. They're a size medium. Oh, and because I'm all about the love, I'll ship them wherever you live, no questions asked. On station in Antarctica? No problem. Uzbekistan? All good. Not that I'm saying you people who have draws and only ship within the continental US suck, because, sure, I suck too, I just suck much less than you do. So there you are. I'll pick a winner Sunday night. Don't forget who loves you.

PS. If you win and have strangely small hands or maybe gigantor hands, I may be able to work something out for you.

PPS. If you happened to read my Monday post, it really wasn't meant to sound like a pity party, but I do have man-cold and maybe it sucked the funny out. But thanks for all the sympathy. And sympathetic kicks in the ass.

I am Mr. Roarke, your host. Welcome to Fantasy Island.

Oh ya, I went there. Come on, I'm a daddy blogger giving away "adult toys," we need to keep this light. So today is the day, I announce the Eden Fantasys gift code winner. We had 70 comments total but only 68 entrants. Petra (because she's 10 kinds of cool) gave up her entry to the person commenting after her and my mom decided to skip this one. (Thank you so much)

Can we go back to Ricardo Montalbán for a second? Wrath of Khan and Corinthian leather aside, you know this guy scored back in the day.

What? Oh, the winner, right. I decided that letting Connor and Liam pull names out of a hat might be putting myself in a morally grey area, so I left it to Random.org. The lucky winner of the $50 gift code was Jen at Sprite's Keeper. Congrats, Jen! Lets avoid any awkwardness and just leave it at that. A big thanks to everybody who entered, twittered and even facebooked. I wish I could give you all sex toys, but Drew only gave me one and if he'd given me enough for all of you he'd probably get fired. Not to mention that our blogging relationship might change as well. Sure you'd tell me you'd be back but then things would get awkward and you'd be all, 'oh, I've been so busy I haven't had time to read anybody's blog,' or, 'damn, something must be wrong with my reader, I didn't know you'd posted!' Fine, be that way now that you have a constant source of sexual gratification, see if I care! Not like I have feelings or anything. I hope your orgasms suck!

See. It's best that there was only one winner. Anyway, thanks again for playing. Go over to Eden Fantasy if you have the time or you're not at work. They have a nice site. Congratulations Jen.

Giveaways and Blogiversaries

About a month or so ago there was a wave of posts from people hitting their 100th posts which made me look at my own body count and low and behold I was almost at 800. I've also been thinking of doing some kind of giveaway since everybody else is doing it and I'm as much of a lemming as everybody else. But give away what? You ever pull up somebody else's blog and they're all 'oh, such and such a company asked me to do this,' blah blah blah and you're all, gah! why doesn't some company give me stuff to try out or give away? Well you shouldn't be so petty. Ha! Anyways, as fate would have it, lucky 800 has landed me some schwag to share. The exceptionally patient Drew over at EdenFantasys.com emailed me and invited me to do a giveaway or product review if I was interested. You're a fan of Petra's? Yes, that Drew.

Hey! Don't leave yet! Yes, you. Hand off the mouse. Stick around and hear me out. I have to admit that I was a little intimidated by this at first too. I mean, it's one thing for Petra to do this, but a daddy blogger promoting adult toys? A daddy blogger whose mom and sister read his blog? But then I thought, what the hell, I'll bet I'm the first daddy blogger to do it. And what are envelopes for if not for pushing?

As for reviews? Uh, most of my readers are female, so I don't think we're going down that road. And seriously, my mom reads this. And giving away an actual product? Why don't we get to know each other a little better first. A gift code though, that I can do. Baby steps. And for anybody out there dumb like me a gift code is like an on-line gift card (thanks Drew!). *pause* Oh, so it was just me. Anyway, a $50 gift code (card) to Eden Fantasys to spend however you like, no questions asked.

So here's the deal. Comment and you get an entry, tweet about the giveaway and let me know you did and you get two entries for that. Deal? And just in case you're still a little hesitant at this point, I'll email you first if you win and give you the option of being an anonymous winner. I know, I'm caring and understanding.

Guys, I want you in on this too. First off, there's lots of, uh... interesting stuff there for us. Second, you know your Valentine's gift sucked, so here's a second chance to get your someone special something special. Or maybe let them pick. Whatever, that's your thing.

Even if you don't want to play go check out Eden Fantasys, they've got a nice site and it's not just about the toys. They've got a new section called SexIs that's full of information, interviews, articles on sexual health & well-being and buyers guides. And Drew says if you make a comment on something you saw in there you get 3 entries. All good friends.

So there you go, 800 posts and a sex toy giveaway. Was it good for you? Contest is open until Friday the... 3rd? It's April already? How did that happen? April 3rd.

And if you're interested in some more giveaways, Megan over at Embellished Truth and Polite Fiction has another Eden Fantasys giveaway, but her's is the Enchanted Evening Sensual Lover's Kit. Good times. Now get out of here. Tell your friends and neighbours.
