Me: How did the potato masher get upstairs?
Supreme Leader: I don't know (she may have been gritting her teeth)
Liam: I don't know either, but it was probably stuck to my foot.
Huh? Whatever, he made me a mud cake for my birthday.
With an ocean theme. And it's a cake, not a pie. He was emphatic.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeletenice. hope you had a great birthday and dont forget to brush your teeth afterward...smiles.
ReplyDeleteMy mental picture of Liam stomping upstairs with a potato masher stuck to his foot is hampered by not knowing what kind of masher you have- round or wavy- but I am managing!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great birthday- that cake looks mighty fine.
I love mud "cake". Although mine usually involves chocolate pudding, chocolate cake (crumbled) and gummy worms.
ReplyDeleteBut yours looks, um, yummy too. :)
Happy Birthday!
Turned upside down a potato masher would make an awesome wooden leg for a 5-year-old pirate.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Spill, Cap'n...how old are you now?
I love how he qualified his statement. It must have been pretty darn probable. Nice CAKE!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I love when my boys bring me dead flowers and weeds. Oh, and rocks. So precious!
ReplyDeleteIt may or may not have been him. Just more likely to have been him than not...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cake? Have you introduced him to Betty Crocker yet? I'm just saying next year could be a whole different world.
A beautifully decorated cake!
ReplyDeletePotato mashers have a tendency to stick to feet - so that totally makes sense. Love that kid!!
In a pinch, potato mashers make great metal sandals, too. Reuse....so very politically correct!
ReplyDeleteHey, I'll be Liam's lawyer...and in doing so I would point out that he merely said "it might" have been stuck to his foot. He made no admission. You are assuming his guilt with no real evidence. What kinda kangaroo court is this?
ReplyDeleteA happy Birthday to you!
ReplyDelete&
"...probably..." ??? That little imp! :D
P.S.: That Cake of yours looks totally gorgeous!
That's a good looking cakes. As for the potato masher, it's probably good you found it before it made its way to the bathroom.
ReplyDeletePfffft. If you didn't keep so many potaters on the stairs, he wouldn't have to walk around with the masher on his foot. So it's your fault.
ReplyDeleteHeyyyyyyy!!! Happy happy happy birfday! Hahaha, what a sweet boy you have. He thinks you need more fiber.
Happy Birthday! That cake looks good enough to eat. Well, maybe not but the thought was nice.
ReplyDeleteAwesome cake. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI already gave you a birthday wish, but I do like the pie, er, cake. Did you get a big slice?
ReplyDeleteAnd who doesn't love cake!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Great cake!
ReplyDeleteWow! Not just any old mud cake, but a themed mud cake!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
How else was he going to get it upstairs? Gotta carry it somehow!
ReplyDeleteAnd if I didn't say it before, Happy Birthday, Captain!
My son get stuff stuck to his foot all the time: Legos, Hot Wheels, the cat. You name it, it has probably been stuck there.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
Thanks. Now I want cake, and I already feel fat. Happy flippin' birthday.
ReplyDeleteDid you eat some????
ReplyDeleteThis was--perhaps--the most ingenious use of a potato masher EVER! Granted, the pie isn't exactly edible, but it's the thought that counts. Right?
ReplyDeleteDuh....clearly it's a pie, even if it's in a cake tin. Come on! Hope you had a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing my garden MIGHT look better than yours right now!!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy day my friend.
Potato mashers are sticky. Mud "cakes" are adorable. Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! That is the most appetizing mud confection I've ever seen. Kids got talent.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I think we are living in parallel universes (except for the b-day). I found the spatula and other cooking utensils in the kids closet two days ago. Sharpie marks on the table, experiments with snails. I guess it's not so bad. :)
ReplyDeleteA potato mashed upstairs? Seriously is that not where we are supposed to keep them?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
He IS adorable!
