Ya, so I missed RTT again. I'd offer an excuse but you don't really care why and I don't have one so let's move on, shall we? I've received three post cards so far from Ellie at Me, You and Ellie, Jenni at Oscarelli and Juliana from Surviving Boys and I've heard back from... I think 5 people now that they've received there's. Yay! I'll take another pic of my desk once I've got some more up on my wall.
Hello, Marion.
This is pretty cool. What other planets would look like from Earth if they were orbiting us from the same distance as the moon is.
Scale from Brad Goodspeed on Vimeo.
How long does it take you to figure out what this means?
I actually found this after I wrote this post up and realized I hadn't added anything Star Wars related. It's like there was a disturbance in the Force that auto-corrected itself. Matthew from Cicero, NY, this ones for you.
Middle-child Liam started out the school year with some "behavioural issues" and to help him along, his teachers created a colour coded chart to track his day. Blue was great, green was good, yellow-meh, and red for DefCon 1. He's had his ups and downs, but lately he has been doing so well that his teacher added a new colour to his chart, purple.
Have a purple day.

Yay for purple!!! We got our post card yesterday! Indy (who loved the first photo you posted and yelled out: Hey! That's Marion!) immediately confiscated said post card and took it to his room, where it went up on the wall with his every expanding collection of post cards.
ReplyDeleteIt's Green Eggs and ham. I had to look at it twice and the second time it hit me.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that Liam's been having purple days. You have a purple day too!
nice...a purple day...that commercial is awesome...it means its time for breakfast cause even drawn food makes me hungry...
ReplyDeletePfft. Green Eggs and Ham, I had it by the time I was done reading the chart.
ReplyDeletePurple is the color of royalty, you know...I hope to have a purple day of my own. Tip o' the Gumbo hat to ye and the lad!
Congratulations to Liam! Be sure to let next year's teacher know about this method, and maybe let him meet her/him ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteGot the Green Eggs and ham once I got to the box and the fox.
LOVE the VW commercial.
Def Com 1. Jesus I am laughing out LOUD.
ReplyDeleteI am adding that to my stop light.
I loved everything about this post! Honestly and truly. I laughed heartily at each bit. Bonus: My oldest watched the video with me---twice. We are still laughing. It's looking all kinds of purple over here. (Congrats, Liam!)
ReplyDeletePS-Green Eggs and Ham, 0.000003 seconds. I'm that good (I used the Force). Happy Belated RTT.
Purple is awesome!! WTG Liam!
ReplyDeleteI will not eat green eggs and ham!
One of these days I'll remember to get that postcard, I promise!
0.3 seconds on the GE&H pic.
ReplyDeleteCool for Liam! Redmond's [5] favorite color is purple. I sent your postcards in a little box. I'm doing it wrong... as usual. You should receive it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI recognized it as soon as I saw the fox. Of course I did, I have a 3 year old.
ReplyDeleteI sent your postcard today. (I got yours on Monday. I mean, I wanted to make sure you completed your part of the deal, okay?)
Yep green eggs and ham, had it in about 2 seconds, pretty good considering the fact that I'm still groggy from the sleeping pill that I took last night. Guess that means that I'm having a purple day. Woo hoo!
ReplyDeletePurple is good! I'm assuming that thingy in the middle was green eggs & ham... I'm a little slow this week. My brain turned off during the blizzard.
ReplyDeleteI do not like it Sam I Am!
ReplyDeleteI waited to send your postcard because I had to leave town to get it. That's right, you're getting it from somewhere special. :-)
Whoaaaaaaaaa, purple! Way to go, Liam. You know, only the über cool ones get purple. Look at Windu with his purple lightsaber. Kickbutt cool.
ReplyDeleteThat commercial is PRECIOUS!
I still don't like Sam I am, and I got it before I got to the end of the first row. Like Keely, I have a 3 year old.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm on the post card this weekend. Hells, where do you buy a post card in a city no one ever wants to visit? And even if they do, they don't want to admit it to their friends.
A purple day, indeed. Might have been purplier if you included a picture of the baby...
My postcards are being mailed today.
ReplyDeleteEvery day is a good day for random.
ReplyDeleteI got the Green Eggs and Ham reference pretty quickly. Mainly because I'm five.
That Kid Vader commercial is, I gotta admit, one of the cutest things I've seen in a long time. Heh.
Good stuff here today. Well randomed, sir.
I have some postcards - not Cleveland postcards, but good ones - so I just have to get one in the mail. With the size of the ass-dent in my couch though, it may be a day or two.
ReplyDeleteI *love* that commercial. And purple days are awesome.
That was pretty freakin hysterical. I will have to try that with our car sometime soon. Thanks for the shout out. From Matthew in Cicero
ReplyDeleteThe planet vid is very cool... gonna have to show that one to my oldest. She'll get a kick out of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd that VW commercial is the most awesome commercial ever in the history of commercials. The end.
Didn't take me but a few seconds to figure out the Dr. Seuss since I do have a 2 year old. The commercial just makes me want to buy a Darth Vader outfit for my kid. Having something like that roaming my house all day would be the coolest thing ever. I don't even remember what the commercial was about though.
ReplyDeleteI was right... kiddo thought the vid was cool.
ReplyDeleteHer reaction? "DUDE."
I knew exactly what that was as soon as I saw it... what does that say about me? I def. need to get out more.
ReplyDeleteDid you like my zombie monster card? Sorry it wasn't Star Wars... I'm an epic failure, I know.
Hope the chart works. They worked only for youngest for about two weeks before he'd just say "punish me already". Now it's January and the school's giving me 3 other classroom options. Hmmm, if they'd listened to me in the FIRST week of school, this could have all been avoided. UGH!
I'm feeling purple all right... but I don't think it's the same hue as your son's. -J
You should be receiving my cards any day now. To post with your Green Eggs and Ham! The Force is Badass1
ReplyDeleteThat fantastic! realy! these website is way better then everything I ever saw.
ReplyDeleteGreen eggs and ham. Easy-peasy. Not in a house, not with a mouse, not in a box, not with a fox etc. etc. Got your postcard; thank you. Mine is going out in the mail to you today. We are not a tourist town, and have had a heck of a time finding a postcard! Who knew?!? Well anyway thanks for yours and Happy Friday!! =)
ReplyDeleteColor-coded days...are you kidding? I should have been a teacher; I would have had a field day with parents!
ReplyDeletePurple is good. YaY for purple!
ReplyDeletePurple is good. YaY for purple!
ReplyDeleteWell purple is awesome, glad to hear he's doing better!
ReplyDeleteYour postcard's in the mail. Actually, it's in a pile on the counter with a shitload of other stuff I need to tend to. Calm down.
I love purple!
ReplyDeleteNot in a house, not with a mouse, not in a box, not with a box, not on a train, not in the rain, not with a got, not on a boat. I do not like green eggs and Ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.
ReplyDeleteYou do not like them so you say. Try them! Try them, and you may! Try them and you may I say!
One of my kids' favorites.
Okay, so this is a little gross, but there was a dead cat on the curb under my brothers work truck on day - we don't know how it died but we found it in the AM and called animal control to come get it, but they took forever. Well, some kids who were maybe 8 or 9 years old were walking home from school and saw the dead cat and started poking it with a stick (of course), so my brother got his keys and hit the panic button and his horn and lights start going off. I'm pretty sure those kids had to go home and change their pants. It was hilarious.
Yay for purple! That's Princess Nagger's favorite color. ;)
ReplyDeleteArgh, I keep forgetting the postcard. At this rate, it'll be a Christmas card.
ReplyDeleteJupiter coming atcha!!
ReplyDeletePurple Power!!
the ham was a dead giveaway...
ReplyDeleteSo now you guys can be totally cool and tell each other "you are so purple" and nobody else will know what you're talking about, only that they want to be purple too.
ReplyDeleteIt took me about 1/2 a minute. I have the book basically memorized. Yay for purple!
ReplyDeleteLove that commercial.
ReplyDeletethat commericial is the best...one of the kids got to meet the real Darth Vadar...so cool.
ReplyDeleteI don't like green eggs and ham either. ;)
