Why Didn't I Think Of This Sooner?

I had a brilliant artistic idea yesterday, but unfortunately my medium is scheduled to disappear at 11am PST today. Supreme Leader's stomach! So round, so big, so...er... no, not big. Um? Wait, she doesn't have computer access in the hospital. SO BIG! So many possibilities, so little time.

Advertising. How much do you think I could have got plastering Pampers or Huggies or Graco across this?

Connor and Liam also thought this was an excellent idea and demanded their turns. Tagged by his older brothers and he's not even out yet, a sign of things to come?

That's not a moon, that's a space station.

I really wish I'd had more time with this one. Could you imagine if I'd filled it all out in black with a picture to go by instead of just what was in my head? Hopefully one day another expectant father with an extremely patient wife will take this idea and improve upon it.

Supreme Leader's only condition for allowing me to do this to her was that the ink must come off afterwards. I don't know, I think the surgical staff would have been impressed. Anyway, if you're looking for a good marker to draw on yourself or a loved one with I'd recommend Crayola Pip-Squeaks. Easy on, easy off.

Why didn't I think of this sooner?!

  1. OMG Death Star!! I think that is the funniest picture I have ever seen. Think of all this not so much as losing a canvas, but gaining an artist. Best of luck with everything!

  2. As soon as I saw the crayola on SL's belly I knew it was only a matter of time (paragraphs) before the Death Star made an appearance.

    Happy Birthday, little Dumbass!

(And happy Woohoo! It's Finally OUT Day, SL!)

  3. I knew you were drawing comparisons to the Death Star!

  4. PS- judging by the turkey timer, she's about to pop!

SL- All the best! Can't wait to meet your new bundle of joy. Sorry you're cramped up in the hospital waiting for it.

  6. Oh, man. I haven't been a reader of your blog long enough yet to know your interests or obsessions, so I didn't see that third pic coming -- but that Death Star Belly shot is absolute genius.
    Congratulations, of course!

  11. So today's the day! When I saw the first pictures I just knew the Death Star must be coming (if you had time that) Very excited for you all (about the baby - not the Death Star on your wife's stomach, although that was pretty cool).

  18. That's it, the woman needs to be nominated for sainthood. That is an awesome picture, however.

Good luck with the arrival of the littliest. We'll be thinking of you down at the Badger Den. Because the world always welcomes another Dumbass.

  21. Your wife is obviously in mental distress with this whole pregnancy thing. Or she's in a state of torpor. I know I was out of it when I was pregnant. Or rather livid and testy and cranky and ready to pull an oozie out at any moment, but the opposite must apply to your kind and forgiving wife.

OK maybe she's just a really really REALLY good sport.

  22. The Supreme Breeder must be the most chill pregnant woman in history. Prayers for safe and healthy delivery.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You're just going to have to get her pregnant again.
