Is there any movie that can not be made better with the addition of a TIE fighter and light sabers? I think not.
Watching my wife struggle through all the joys of pregnancy makes me so very very happy I was born with a penis. Miracle of childbirth? Ya, you can keep it.
Pi plate.
Get it?
Kashi would be more appealing if it didn't taste like a handful of wood chips and dirt.
Giant Darth Vader balloon head. Just because. I'd tie this to my roof if I could afford it.
Did Jesus ask to get super-sized? Researchers at the Cornell Food and Brand Lab studied fifty-two depictions of The Last Supper painted between 1000 AD and 2000 AD and discovered that:
"portion sizes of main courses (usually eel, lamb and pork) depicted in the paintings grew by 69 percent over time, while plate size grew by 66 percent and bread size grew by 23 percent."
And sticking with religious art, have you ever seen the Sistine Chapel? Click on this. No, seriously. Do it. Ok, if you don't do it now, come back later and do it. And be patient if if takes a moment or two to load, just think how long it took to paint.
Ok, that's all I got. For more Random Tuesday foolishness, click on the purple button.
That Vader balloon is simply incredible. I want it. Hey, I have an idea. Fancy nicking it for a weekend and going for a joy ride?
ReplyDeleteThe pi plate is awesome. And if you and the pp nick the Darth Vader balloon, please, oh please, oh please let me know so I can join you. If I'm ever going to be arrested for anything, I want it to be for stealing a DV balloon and going for a joy ride. How cool of a rap sheet would that be?
ReplyDeleteBW, thanks for recommending the Book Thief a while back. I talked my book club into reading it by telling them a highly respected blogger I knew (I even said it with a straight face) said it was a great read. They agreed to reading it and we all loved it. Yay for reading!
You should have said it takes more like 5 minutes to load! But that was amazing! I don't think I have ever seen the whole thing, or ever realized how big it is.
ReplyDeleteYou and Darth, man... you worry me. Especially with another baby coming! If I come into money, I'll buy you that balloon for your house.
Oh! I want a Pi Plate .. just because!!
ReplyDelete*gasp* Do want that Pi Plate!
ReplyDeleteAnd it is Blue!!!
About the link to the Sistine Chapel, really liked it! They should have installed a 'Mute' button though.
Captain
ReplyDeleteYou have a penis! Everybody to be in the know.
I do not understand the Miracle.
It hasppened...no more!
Maria Luísa
Hey! It's the Big Giant Head! I want one! Wait, I already have one...except it doesn't look like Darth Vader...and its attached to my neck...
ReplyDeleteThe plate reminds me of an old math nerd joke:
Pi r squared?
No! Pi are round!
CORNBREAD r squared!
(harharsnort) what?
Just wanted you to know that my GARDEN IS PEEKING OUT.
ReplyDeleteyeah. bring it on.
That is an amazing artistic feat.
ReplyDeleteIf you get the balloon, I want to get a ride in it.
I still would rather NOT have a penis ... well, at least in the sense that you were referring to... its all about weltanshauung - neat eh, huh? Anyone remember that from Psy 101???
ReplyDeleteHappy Day Captain.
Wow. Canadian Kashi sounds better than the American version.
ReplyDeleteI love the pi plate (I even got it on the first try today).
ReplyDeleteAre you by any chance considering the name "Chewbacca" for your next child? Because that would be awesome. Then again, he/she would also probably get their ass kicked everyday for all of high school.
ReplyDeleteA ride in the DV balloon over the Vatican - now that would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat link - check out how relatively small the creation of man painting is...
Pregnancy and childbirth are in fact a cruel joke perpetrated by The Man.
ReplyDeleteThat Darth Vader thing is awesome :-)
ReplyDeleteThe paintings need to be updated to show Jesus chowing down on an adult happy meal.
ReplyDeleteCary Grant with a light saber, be still my heart.
ReplyDeleteI saw that Darth Vader balloon yesterday and immediately thought of you. So my laziness in not sending it to you was avenged.Wow! the Sistine chapel site is cool.
ReplyDeleteThe Darth Vader hot air balloon is great!
ReplyDeleteJohn would LOVE LOVE LOVE that Pi plate!
clicking on the Sistine Chapel link now.
ha....funny I was just saying on someone elses blog today, Im so glad Im a boy...I think the gals got the short end of the stick sometimes (no pun intended) lol
ReplyDeleteWow!!! The Sistine Chapel was AMAZING!!! I'd go to Rome just to see that!
ReplyDeleteIf only Michelangelo had included a TIE fighter and light saber.
ReplyDeleteEllie
I agree, Cary Grant +light saber=awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. I'm still a little dazed after Mom in High Heels called you a "highly respected blogger." Check back with me later.
ReplyDeleteUm...pi plate?...Must have!!! And as for the penis thing...me thinks that during pregnancy SL has wished many times you didn't have a penis!! :p
ReplyDeleteDamn, that Sistine Chapel link was uber-cool. And I think I should get cudos for patience, cause it took forever. Is it my computer? Or is the Vatican website just overwhelmed with folks filing suit in the latest sex abuse scandal? I'm sorry, that was just bad.
ReplyDeleteI saw that balloon in Albuquerque (I keep promising myself I never have to type that city again!!)
ReplyDeleteGreat random thoughts and I know I would love to see the Sistine Chapel (#1 unmarried son has seen it why haven't I??)
Love the plate. Is it apprx 3.14 inches in radius?
ReplyDeleteHave a great RTT.
http://harrietandfriends.com/2010/03/bloggers-internet-users/
I thought you wrote, "BEARD size increased 23 percent." When do they do that study?
ReplyDeleteHey! I wrote about penises (peni?) on my blog too! Check it out.
http://butterbeanandcobra.blogspot.com/2010/03/sausage-famine-rhetorical-analysis-of.html
I read that about the super sized food and I'm dying over the pi plate :-D
ReplyDeleteJesus, darth vader and pi.
ReplyDeleteWow what a combination.
Bwaahahahaha - pi plate.
ReplyDeleteI told my son he had to marry my friend's daughter when he gets older. He agreed, provided I bought him a light saber for his birthday.
Fair trade, I'd say.
The Vader balloon atop your house is one of the greatest images. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hopeful that the Darth Vader balloon doubles as a bounce house for those that are so inclined?
ReplyDeleteOn March 14th, every year I order a pizza and make a delicious key lime pie. True story. Lame story too.
Photoshop is serving you well, my young apprentice...
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is fantastic. I want that in a frame on my wall. lol
ReplyDeleteBeen to the Sistine Chapel (when I was younger and childless), No video can even compare to it in person. What's even more amazing than the ceiling are the halls leading it. Now, the Vader balloon...I think that may be my next vacation idea.
ReplyDeleteNxNW the Star Wars version rocks!
ReplyDeleteLove all your randomness. And speaking of random, I know it's been up there forever, but can I just tell you how much I love your header?
Speaking of more randomness - I left you an award on my blog. 'Cause I'm sneaky like that.
The Kashi will taste a whole lot better if you sprinkle 1/2 cup of brown sugar on top. Speaking of penis' - you brought it up, i just got home from Body Worlds and I couldn't NOT focus on all the penis'. The point of the exhibit was the heart but still.....
ReplyDeleteThe Sistine Chapel IS awesome. So awesome!
Happy RaNDoM!
The Sistine Chapel was breathtaking, but I had an unreasonable fear when I clicked on it that some crazy porn site was going to come up.
ReplyDeleteThis wouldn't be the first time I spent way too much time playing in the Sistine Chapel.
ReplyDeleteImagine if Balloon boy had made off in that Vader Head. Now that would have been awesome.
ReplyDeletePi à la mode. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteWomen are usually pretty good at childbirth.
1. I want a Pi plate.
ReplyDelete2. I want the Vadar head
3. I want to go to the Sistine...that is some badass work!
4. The Cinnamon Harvest Kashii with a little extra cinnamon sprinkled on, vanilla soymilk, and a little raw honey totally kicks ass...try it (if you like all those things).
That Sistene Chapel site is BLOWING MY MIND!
ReplyDeleteI need to get out more?
I covet the pi plate.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you did not stick Star Wars in the Sistine Chapel.
ReplyDeleteWood chips and dirt - YES. I once bought two boxes of Kashi granola bars, ate one, and returned the unopened box to the store. Blech.
ReplyDeleteOkay, if you want a giant vader head creeping over you house...you might like this.... you can think my Macs for this...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVrIyEu6h_E
fantastic!
ReplyDeleteDamn, I cant believe I forgot to RTT the Vader balloon today
The Sistine Chapel site is amazing. Saw it in person twice. Once, back in the dark ages (freshman in high school) long before it was cleaned. There was NO one but our tour group. I layed down on the floor and stared at it for as long as they let me. The last time, the place was jammed packed with people. It was still awe inspiring.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Cary Grant with a Light Saber is genius
ReplyDeleteHa, I am a Sailor! Love me long time! I used to live in Italy and the Sistine Chapel... WOW, to see it in person! Impressive!
ReplyDeleteSilence is often the best answer!
ReplyDeleteBut I answered to you in my "os7degraus".
I am your portuguesefriend.I liked and I like
Gary Grant.
Maria Luísa Adães
happy Easter!
OMG... the mathematician in me wants one of those "Pi" plates!
ReplyDeleteThe last thing I need is some kind of math involved in my dinner plate...also, although I am not a huge starwars fan, I must admit that balloon is kinda cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying I won't mock you if I see it tied to your car, but it's likely I'd mock you anyway.
Now I want a pi plate. And a Darth Vader hot air balloon. And maybe a penis.
ReplyDeleteI first read that his pant size increased, not his plate size. Go Jesus. You badass mofo.
ReplyDeleteThe darth vader ballon is great. and i have to admit, i bought my math teacher friend a pi plate for her birthday! ahha. she loved it though.
ReplyDeleteI got a little dizzy on the link to the Sistine chapel, and then I got into it.
ReplyDeleteI've been spinning around in there for quite a while.
Quite a while.
If my husband saw that Vader head we'd have a 6th mortgage for sure! Blogger didn't let my comment make it here on Tuesday-do you think there is a convention in town (-:
ReplyDeleteDamn... that was random.
ReplyDeleteLove the darth vader balloon. That thing looks rad as hell!
I am a fan of my penis too.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what wood chips tasted like. Dirt, yeah. But wood chips? That's just weird.
ReplyDelete"Within Sounds of Silence"
ReplyDeleteIn restless dreams I walked alone
narrow streets of coblestone
neath the halo of a street lamp..
And in the naked light I saw ten thousand people, maybe more,
people talking without speaking
people hearing without listening
people writing songs that voices
never share and no one dared.
But my words,
touched the sound of silence.
Whisper´s in the sound of silence...

ReplyDeleteNext time my five year old is having a meltdown, I'm sooo bringing him back to this post to see the huge Darth Vader head.
ReplyDeletehttp://jingleyanqiu.wordpress.com/2010/04/04/easter-sunday-awards-to-fill-your-basket/
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Easter!
Today I sent my son to daycare with a Return of the Jedi shirt with a big picture of Yoda on it. So you could probably guess that I liked this post. I can think of numerous movies I have watched with my wife that would definitely be better with light sabers and galactic battle scenes.
ReplyDeleteStealing that first picture for some geeks I know that would like it.
ReplyDeleteIt feels kind of weird to do the 3D walk-through of the Sistine Chapel. Like I'm looking at it as if it's a house to buy or something. Wow...quite the dining room.
I have that pie plate. And that is why I weigh so much.
ReplyDeleteDid that make sense? It did to me...
OK. Kashi cerial does not taste like woodchips and dirt. Maybe like fresh bark and stale bread. Just kidding. I actually love the vanilla flavored wheat squares. Soaked in milk they are scrumptious. You should really give that a try.
ReplyDeleteair balloons shape looks so interesting, i really like it, I've never seen it, so amazing.
ReplyDelete
