I Wake Up Every Morning From The Alarm Clock's Warning, Take The 8:15 Into The City...

You know what? Working really blows. This whole getting up early and getting home late is totally cramping my style. I've barely answered any comments this week and only been to a handful of blogs. I want to be a stay at home dad again. Anyway, if you haven't seen me around, it's not because I'm being a snob, I'm just asleep on the couch.

This may take a little getting used to.

Yeah, work sucks. Why can't we get paid to stay home and watch TV and surf the web?

I agree working REALLY sucks! I want to get paid to sleep... I already surf the web so I do get paid (kinda) for that.

Nice excuse. You can always blog at work you know ;)

JK... good luck adjusting and I hope you're doing something you enjoy.

and why cant the mortgage companies understand that, that we are using valuable life span time slaving at jobs to just pay the bills!

I almost wept when they cut my hours in half that was oh, 6 months ago, Now i love it, I learned how to live on less, and have a lab I can go to when I need that extra buck!

wouldnt it be great to blog and get paid, that is what i am looking for! LOL

PS what do the boys do all day with out you? How do they know what to sing about or which sign to hold? poor guys

Yeah. Welcome to my world. With practice, you'll build up some stamina. Personally, I think work weeks should only be 2 days and weekends 5. We have it backwards!

Actually your sitting there on that morning work drive smiling that your back in the saddle again.
Yeah it is enjoyable to be with the kids and having that time with the family but the pay sucks.

Gaston Studio said...

Sounds good... until you realize that paying the mortgage keeps a roof over your head and buying groceries keeps "them" healthy, and then, there's the clothes they so quickly grow out of!

The only thing I would add is that waffles don't make themselves so how am I supposed to even get up for work knowing there aren't waffles in my immediate future? Case closed.

otin said...

Look, if you wanted a job where you could just lay around and play and not have any real responsibility, you should have gone into politics! lol!

gimmethejuice said...

I know, right? This is what happened (and it still happening to me) when I went from working three days per week to full time. Sucks and I still don't have the time I want and need to blog (to read and write)

Badass Geek said...

It sure does suck, but you're doing what you have to do.

Chin up, man.

Ellie Belen said...

Yes, yes it does blow. You've been to other side as a stay at home dad. Now you've gone over to the dark side. But at least it pays.

Work?

What's that?

Jenni said...

bnf at home eating bon bons all day is way better. but it does not pay the mortgage, so congrats on the paying gig.

Work is for the birds! But then payday comes...ahhh, loves.

You don't need to apologize. You have to do what you have to do and you can only do so much.

Seems like there are a ton of people feeling the same way about their blogs and comments and twitter and so on.

I'm about to be on the same bent here-just too much writing to do and the blogging is sucking me away from income potential.

But I'll be keeping up with you whatever your schedule ends up being.

Maybe you could just stay there long enough to get laid off? Then you could stay home and play with us again and wonder every day if this useless existence is really what you're supposed to be doing with your time... Wait, maybe you should just keep the job.

It does suck.

Well as you stated earlier your mortgage company appreciates your getting up early and getting home late and yes --- IT SUCKS!!!!
My husband took a drop in pay to get a job that is walking distance from home - freed up almost 2 hours of our day.

Work SO sucks. Especially because now I just want to spend all my time on that cool beat-box or whatever the hell it is site. Funny thing is (although I'm sure my boss wouldn't think so) most of my blogging happens at work!

When i was home for some months before I started work, i started my blog.
It was like my baby I got up daily to nurture it, comment and follow interesting blogs. Now that i am working omg i have ignored my blog....

Work really drains u in some ways...but it puts the food on the table.

Adjusting to new schedules IS hard. My youngest is working up a whole new bowel disposal schedule, the night shift. *sigh*

You're doing great. Give it a week or so and everything should work itself out. At least that's what I told him. You? I don't know what to say. ;)

Raven said...

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure it's going to take some getting used to. I hope you get back in the swing of things soon.

I hope your job is going well too.

Khadra said...

Congrats on the new job

It's the opposite for me. Now that I'm a SAHM, I find it really hard to get any quality computer time in. Yet when I was working, I could blow off a whole half day and just write posts, read other sites and comment. It's all about time management, you know.

"Takin' care of business" I see…

Now I got BTO on the brain… thanks.

Congratulations on being part of the working world again.

I have to admit, I will dread getting up early, getting presentable to leave early for work once it happens again.

If I could only win lottery.

Got your blog from Amber Page writes. Pretty funny. I'll be following you from now on. Even if you have to work.:)

I completely agree with that sentiment. It really does blow. But we sure do like living in a house!

Sandy said...

Hang in there. It'll get (somewhat) better.
