The Face Of Fear

So you like spicy food? Love peppers, love your hot chili, blah blah blah? You don't know shit. My MIL is from northern Thailand where they actually eat fire. FIRE. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. See this?

That's a bag of death right there.

I used the pineapple for perspective, but I had to snap this picture fast because the damn thing burst into flame. My hair singed just taking this shot and I was using the zoom lens. Notice the bag isn't even full. These people are MAD! MAD!

Burning ring of fire. I know what Cash was singing about.

  1. Ah yes, the evil little dehydrated worms we carefully move to the side of the plate before eating the Thai food...

  2. I used to love spicy food, the hotter the better. But then I had a kid, and discovered the fabulous condition of acid reflux, and peppers and I can no longer co-habitate. Ever.

  3. I was once called a bag of fire. I took it as an insult. Now I'm not so sure. Also, I'm totally jealous of the pineapple. In Utah those suckers are costly.

  4. I know that burning ring of fire. That's what happens 1 to 2 hours after eating the peppers.

  5. Ha. My wife is from New Mexico and she goes on and on about how she loves spicy food. We went to Thailand for our honeymoon (the most awesome 30 days ever) and she ordered everything spicy hot. I went to the market one day and got lunch to go for us. They knew us by then, but this time, I said "phet-phet" for her food and they were like, "phet-phet? she like phet-phet?" and I said, "Yeah." and then my wife was like, "Holy freaking mother of fire!" and then she actually blew a fireball out of her mouth. The bag looked like it was made up 70% of those red thai chillies. It was crazy. Still she orders her thai food 10 stars here and it's never been the same.
