During an exchange of emails...
Co-worker: I was going to make a really racist comment, but…
But what... you'd get fired? You suddenly remembered that my wife has those funny slanted eyes too? That my kids aren't quite white? But what, bitch?
Oh, I'm sorry, you weren't finished yet. Please go on.
u can't diss any race without
ReplyDeleteinsulting a member of our family.
We have most of them covered. People who dislike others because of their race or relion are the
saddest people in the world. Sad
because they are so ingnorant.
Human goodness, evil, and everthing in between is not determined by colour of skin or
belief systems.

I couldn't agree with Jerlyn more. (well, with the exception of of the liberal use of all the "u"s)
ReplyDeleteRace, religion and belief systems are personal to each of us. More importantly, they don't determine our worth. No one is born a biggot. We should love each other for what's inside.
My grandmothers side of the family is extremely racist. My grandmother however made the decision way back in the 60's that she would not carry on the family curse and that we as a family would love everyone equally, not based on their skin color, ethnicity, or religion. My mother carried on this, as I do with my kids. Racism just shows ignorance and lack of upbringing (and yes I am talking about THAT side of the family)
ReplyDeleteI think it would have ended like this: I was going to make a really racist comment, but...then I remembered it's hard to talk when my head is up my ass.
