Buuuuuurp!

Ok, that whole starting to eat better now that it's September thing... still down with that. Really. But she made roast pork and yorkshire* pudding tonight. That pork came apart like butter. No, no... like BUTTA.' You hear what I'm saying? And yorkshire puddings. Oh... my stomach had an orgasm. I didn't eat 'til I was full, I ate 'til it hurt.

* To my friends outside of Canada or the UK, a yorkshire pudding is not a popover. I don't know what the fuck a popover is but I hear you eat it with jam or something. Yorkies are eaten with meat, the more the merrier. And gravy. Thick and brown. And if you're man enough, spread a little butter on it first.

Peace out, fatties.

  7. So if it's eaten with meat and gravy, what's it actually MADE of? Something gross I don't want to know about?

  8. Mmm ... Yorkshire Pudding. I had never even heard of this until I started dating my husband 10 (gasp!) years ago. His parents are from up north and make it for Christmas dinner. And, I'm proud to say, that I've successfully made it for Christmas dinner as well. LOVE IT!

And, it's always fun to see the look on the butcher's face when you ask for a pound of beef fat - and even funnier when you get to the register and the cashier can't figure out what it is and why the butcher wrote NO CHARGE on the tag. And, to see the looks on the faces of the people behind us because the cashier is now sending someone back to the butcher to figure it all out.
