Wall-E Made My Boys Gay

Out there
There's a world outside of Yonkers
Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby
There's a slick town, Barnaby

We were looking for the theme song to Wall-E this morning because the boys have been singing along to it. Supreme Leader found the scene from Hello Dolly on You Tube this morning. The boys were transfixed.

I love them no matter what.

  2. Oh man! I remember the first time my son told me he wanted to be a ballerina like his sister.

  3. Show them this stat so they'll man up.

Note that I embed the links instead of just dumping the text into your comment section. I'm so manly.

  5. So this is where I had to come this morning to laugh out loud!!!

That was damn funny. Today at the teacher's lounge they were having a discussion about how taking kids temperature in the butts when they were young made them gay.

    teachers can be stupid too.

  6. hahahaha
    Oh no, not show tunes!

  7. Hey man, show tunes aren't a tell anymore. Disney musical animation made the love for them universal by all the worlds children. Think of all the little boys who love watching "The Little Mermaid" sure they say its for the funny jamaican crab, but we know they are sticking around for the clam shell bra to drop. Ya know what I'm talking about!

@ chris - hello, a boy wanting to be a ballerina is not a bad thing anymore. Watch "Billy Elliot." And don't forget about Crazy for Swayze. He was in Red Dawn for Gods sake. Let the boy dance.

Captain Dumbass made my son gay.

  9. Oh, come on girlfriend! You were singing along with them, weren't you? Although I have to say that clip from Grant was...gayer?

I don't know, maybe start listening to the Scissor Sisters, or Queens of the Stone Age...

  10. At least they sing "..and we won't come home until we've kissed a girl." Even if they are jumping off the porch like giddy girlies themselves...

No matter. Surely you are man enough around there to show them how to be. right?

(That means YOU have to stop jumping off the porch like a giddy girlie, you know.)

    Oh Captain, my Captain.

  11. Showtunes will do it every time, that's all I'm saying. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

  12. My husband would never let me show the boys musicals. This explains so much. Thanks.

  13. If I knew how to embed links I'd do it.

I used to watch The Little Mermaid with my friends when it came out. We'd get drunk and sing along. And yes, always waiting for those shells to drop

And truth be told, we...I was looking for the lyrics so the boys and I could sing along to it.

  14. Have they been requesting parasols to be play with?

  15. My kids are allowed to be gay/straight/bi... they can be whatever they want, as long as they're not Republicans.

  16. LMAO! They might be gay or maybe they're metrosexuals? Very hip these days! either way I'm sure they're wonderful boyz..lol

  17. They're only gay if they sing and dance along to it.

What? Oh. Well, never mind then.

    There's nothing wrong with it.

They would be a hit down at Blaine's!!

I hear the Drag Queens make mad money!

  20. I'll have you know, Captain, that Michael Crawford went on to become the Phantom of the Opera, the most menacing character with a heart in the history of Broadway. And made a LOT of money. This could be your retirement you're encouraging...

  21. Now, I want to rent Hello Dolly, thanks for that..

  22. That's a great song...they just have awesome taste in musical theater, it doesn't make them gay. As a theater major in college, I can attest that there were at least two out of the 120 guys in the program that were straight.

  25. Run, boys, run...
Think they need to come hang with
the red neck relatives out in
    the rugged north!

try them on "The Music Man" they'll
    love that.

ps you loved Nana's doilies when
    you were little.

and yes I had come home early and saw you and your buddies drinking and singing along with the Little Mermaid.

  30. Thanks for the heads up on Wall-E. My boy can still be saved.

  31. I have to say, though, musicals are a fun freak-show. Where else can an entire town, unironically, sing along together?

  32. My son has been singing that damn song too. We watch Wall.E at least twice a day and we all know the whole movie by heart.

Something was nagging me at the back of the head when he sat their singing that song and now I know what it is! Going straight to scene selection from now on and skipping that part! ;)
